Homemade bread

After reading the thread our forum friend @Geo posted about glyphosate in bread I decided to start making my own again. I made a test loaf last week using the recipe below and it came out so good it was gone in a day. As a result I am making a couple more loaves of it today and plan to start doing that instead of buying what is now very expensive store bought whole wheat bread.

When I was into messianic judaism I used to make challah almost every week for shabbat so I have a good recipe for that also but I been getting into healthier living so I been doing whole wheat. This is a solid recipe, albeit a bit time consuming. The upside is I can play guitar for an hour or two while I wait for it to rise. Anyone else rolling their own dough? Thanks to Geo for motivating me on this one. Lord bless! ☦️

Well, I am way into this. But I never leave my bread unlevened.
Challah is never unleavened, you're thinking of matzah for passover. Interestingly, like the Lord, matzah is pierced and striped. The afikomen, a piece of unleavened matzah, is hidden, and the child who locates usually gets a prize. This is so obviously a picture of Christ I have a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that jewish people can't fathom it after celebrating passover after passover. I guess some do but most do not.

The only thing I change about the recipe is I substituted a bit of honey instead of egg white to make the oats adhere to the top. No sense in wasting a good yolk. I might just skip the oats entirely today as it's one more step. We'll see....

Done! Its good!!
