That's funny I just got my Diezel back from them as well , I sent it in for a simple retube and bias but when I got it back I noticed the Transformers were bent and now its got a high pitched whine when I use the FX loop. Weird.

Hope someone does not get that one as a "new in box amp". That would suck arse.

It was the Diezel distributor.

Boutique Amps Distro.

I dealt solely with Blad Quinteros.

Diezel sent me to them as a "local" shop to avoid german shippin costs.

This will be my only action, outing them.

Gonna just PLAY my awesome amp.

Diezel does not have a US distributor.

As far as good techs for Diezel amps, Andrews Amp Lab in Atlanta, GA is good to go.

Says they ARE.

Well that's new (to me). Seems like Diezel has always had bad luck with their US distribution. Seems weird.

Yep. Does the name Terry Hicks ring a bell.

Oh yes.

I think when I first joined Rig Talk Terry Hicks name was bouncing around.

I just realized by some internal markings (marker/name ) it IS the same amp.

THEY DID NOT SEND ME A DIFFERENT AMP. I accidentally sent them my einstein serial via email in our original correspondance as used that as my reference.

The serial is correct, I mixed up my einstein and dmoll serial numbers.

I realized this after I noticed it is STILL making the noise and started inspecting the insides more closely.

Wihout any of my gear or a guitar plugged in the amp will whine with only a patch cable plugged into the paralell fx loop and the loop mixed in some.

Looks like this will be the worst amp experience of my career. Ill have to send it off again for repair after spending $275 on it.

FUCK those guys...

Ill be sending it to Kruze it seems.

OP does the whine increase and decrease with the volume knob?

With the paralell volume yes. Wih the master yes.

Too bad there was a falling out between Diezel and Jens. I had a great experience with him, and referred a friend later on who reported back similar accolades. Not sure what happened, but he treated me well and did a great job on my amp.

then at least you can reasonably believe the problem affects the stages prior to the volume control... would have to be sleuth-ed out and they probably didnt care enough to devote the time.

As you are sending to Kruse you could also try his D-Moll mod. You are paying shipping anyways.

Ive got jens on the line now, he got back to me asap and we are working out details. Wish me luck.

I like the amp as is though...

Are the newer diezel amps assembled in the BAD distro ? I know they are making cabs there but somebody not too long ago mentioned to me that they are assembling amps there too and something like diezel is shipping the amps half assembled because its easier or cheaper to do it this way. BAD builds lots of amps in that factory now, so maybe peter is sending them boards and transformers and having the amps built here for the usa market.
Not sure how much truth there is to any of this, but maybe some of you guys might have heard it too.

Those jackholes need to refund your money and they should eat the shipping sending it back to you too IMO, an experienced amp tech should have been at least able to work with Diezel through communication to figure out what the problem is.

Jens is great. Emailed him with questions about a Marshall mod and he sent me detailed explanations, plus sound clips. And also checked back with me, and not in an annoying way.

No... thankfully. They are tolexing the headshells and installing/burning in the power tubes. The amps are all still built, assembled, in Germany. Transformers, boards, et al. The handwritten serial number on the Diezel factory shipping box, should match the serial number on the amp.

Well under that roof, there is Friedman, Egnater, Diezel and 65 amps.
Dave is the closest and is onsite, should have helped Peter with the repair??

They could have just said, "We are sending you a New amp", right?

That would've made the most sense to me as well. Ask the customer if they are okay with it first... and just ship out a new (and fully, thoroughly tested) amp. Or refund the repair fee... and eat the return shipping charge.
