Horrible amp repair experience

It was the Diezel distributor.

Boutique Amps Distro.

I dealt solely with Blad Quinteros.

Diezel sent me to them as a "local" shop to avoid german shippin costs.

This will be my only action, outing them.

Gonna just PLAY my awesome amp.

I had bad repair experience with Diezel and their recommended tech as well. I asked for a different ampnand got it so it worked out in the end, but it sucked and was stressful while it was going on.

Yeah man that sucks but it seems like them not being direct was the only issue. Most shops around here want a month to do any kind of work at all so the time frame (unless they quoted different) doesn't seem like a big deal.

Now if you didn't know your shit or if you were a sucker maybe you would've got your same broken amp and be out $275. Sounds very possible but at the end of the day you got a new amp. Pretty good deal imo since you'd have had to pay that money regardless.

Oh and full disclosure style: one day i had had it and was furious with him, I told him the fuck off and hung up on him.

This was post "im sending your amp to you anyway."

I freaked, Im sure they'll try to use that to smear me if they come to a defense here.

I would be pissed about getting another amp only because I wasnt told thats what I would be getting. End result is they made good and the new amp works fine, but I wouldnt want another amp sent to me without at least my consent. I dont know if that amp had different issues or what revision board it would have in it. Could I be assured they would sound the same? Different revs. sound different.. was that taken into consideration when they swapped it without my knowledge?

Again, I get that they wanted to resolve the situation, but the whole way it was handled was pretty shitty. Man up and be straightforward about whats going on.

I think if my Diezel ever needs repair I will send it to Kruse. I've only heard great things about him.

Dude I was RIPPING my hair out that I didn't think of that first.

Sorry for your nightmare I had an Einstien that needed repairs (caps and undisclosed mod) sent it Kruse and it was back in a week also had him work on my Herbert he is the kind of guy who will check in on you to see how you and your amp are doing ..I have to say Peters customer service was beyond anything I have seen before with questions service manuals and parts ..I'm surprised they had a new model to ship back out to you ..

Definitely! He was always super responsive and I got my amp back from getting my V5 mod from him in less than 2 weeks. He's great to work with!

Diezel and Kruze had some sort of falling out? He seemed like an ok dude. Stinks that Diezel can't figure out a US distributor.

I'm not surprised. I've experienced some sketchy behavior with them as well. I won't go in to details... but it only backs up what moltenmetalburn is stating here. Proceed with caution. Buyers beware.

Diezel does not have a US distributor.

As far as good techs for Diezel amps, Andrews Amp Lab in Atlanta, GA is good to go.

Good eye catching that about the swap. Problem is, who is getting your amp with the problem? Are they doing a swap with them too?

+1 - hope someone else doesn't get the messed up amp.

Didn't the guy who does the Kruise mods used to work for Diezel, or am I thinking of someone else?

Well that's new (to me). Seems like Diezel has always had bad luck with their US distribution. Seems weird.

That's funny I just got my Diezel back from them as well , I sent it in for a simple retube and bias but when I got it back I noticed the Transformers were bent and now its got a high pitched whine when I use the FX loop. Weird.

Yes they do. See http://www.diezelusa.com which is a subsite of http://www.boutiqueampsdistribution.com who are the USA distributors of Diezel amps.
