Hey guys...new here, but I've had my Rebel 30 Head and pair of 112x cabs for a month now, and I really love it. I needed a light (bad back), modular rig that would be suitable for gigging, and this is perfect.
I really LOVE the cleans on this amp, and with a Danelectro CTO pedal in front of them, I get some nice mild breakup.
I usually dime the drive channel's gain and I love it, but I was wondering if any of you other Rebel 30 users use any sort of boost pedal to get a bit more 'oomph' out of channel 2 for leads and/or heavier stuff.
I tried using the Danelectro CTO, but it seems to make that channel squeal (could be my proximity to the amp during practice). I used the Jeckyll channel of my Jeckyll and Hyde Dual Overdrive pedal, but it did the same thing. I have an original Fulltone Fat Boost pedal on its way to me, and was hoping it would do the trick.
I ran all these pedals in front of the amp, as I 've heard that running a volume-raising effect into the loop was bad for the amp? I don't really know - this is my first tube amp (long time Line 6 user).
Any thoughts or suggestions from you guys?
Right now my signal path is: Guitar>tuner>Danelectro CTO>Boss CE-5>Boss OC-3>EHX Micro Q-Tron>Line 6 DL4>Amp. Not sure where to put the Fulltone.
Thanks for your help!
