How do you Date a DIEZEL?

Hello All,
Atownbcat the Hack here. Im sure this has been ask and i went a few pages back to see if i could find this info...A search option would be a great add to the forum. Im looking at a used herbert(sorry Peter) and it has the grill front and back(i mean not the metal) and the owner said it is an 06 model but all the newer ones ive seen have metal grills...So i thought if i knew how to date them it would be a help.

Hi Cat,

in fact there is a search function (on top of the page, right of the FAQ link). If you'd have a serial number for the Herbert the dating would be easier - but I am quite sure that there's no '06 model with different front cover.

I think, you are talking about the old herbert. i have seen it in ebay.com. i think this is what is called the mk1.

so quite sure, it is an older version than 2006

there is one on ebay right now..he wont tell me what the serial number is he says "its against ebay's policy" but i thought the cloth grill bade it older than on '06. I kinda have a bad feeling about the deal. Are there lots of differences between the new model and the older one?
 
ok so here is a serial of an amp for sale now...any one know how to date it???

That's an older one, just not sure what year.
