How do you remove the handle on a Mesa Mark IV?

I'm planning to remove the handle from my Mesa Mark IV so I can build a new wall of doom without having all my rack gear leaning like it's ready to fall. Space is at a real premium.

Has anyone done this before? How do I go about it? I want to be able to reverse the procedure once it's done.

I would pull the amp from the head shell just to be safe. ( in case the threaded insert nuts fall out which is abnormal)
I had done this to a MKIII .
There are no typical nuts. They use threaded pressed into the wood type of nuts

Thanks for the reply. Is there any issue if I just remove the screws? Or is it best practice to remove the inserts after the screws so that they don't fall out?

No Issue.
Just hate to see if that anchor in the cabinet top fell into the chassis
Unplug the amp and get er done

Could just reinsert bolts with a washer, if needed, without the handle, and that should solve the issue of them falling into the chassis and get rid of the handle.

Should just be one bolt per side.
IF. there is a washer,it would be on top not at the bottom.

ONLY reason I brought up about taking the chassis out of the head shell, is two fold.

ONE,
Just in case that the threaded insert failed or stripped out. Thats a 99.9. % issue

TWO.
You get to see the guts.....just dont be touching shit. or giving it a kiss .

LOL
