How do you solo volume boost Bogner Ecstasy Amps?

Seems like the onboard boost is more of a gain boost and not meant to add volume for solos.
I like to have a footswitchable higher volume of my tone for leads. How do you accomplish this on the Bogner 101b and/or 20th Anniversary? Looks like the loop is line level and I have no interest in running rack gear so I am wondering what the options are with consideration of any external device needing to be stomp box variety.

I imagine you could put an MXR Micro amp or such thru the loop.

I simply use the blue channel (with/without boost) as two different rythm options and use the red channel solely for leads with a higher volume setting.

Yeah I figured that is a logical way to run the amp and what some folks do. I play in a band that goes from Classic and 80s rock to Modern drop D type stuff. GnR to Papa Roach as an example. Was thinking perhaps the Ecstasy Blue channel would be my Classic and 80s and the Red would be the modern. If I were to run it that way each would need to be able to be volume boosted.

Clean boost in the loop or you may be able to engage the loop with the level up with nothing in it strictly for a volume boost..not sure as I haven't tried it.

The loop is line level though, correct? Wouldn't that make it picky about what clean boost pedal you use there for that purpose?

For a clean solo boost, I use a Boss GE7 in the loop. I run the EQ fairly flat and the volume slider just a hair up. Works perfectly. No tone or level issues whatsoever.

FWIW, I sometimes run a second GE7 in the loop set to a slight "V" to chunk things up when the straight 101B tone is just a little too polite. It's a cheap way to get any amp to do something it might not do out of the gate and works really well in the Bog.

To answer your other question, I've run a number of garden variety and "boutique" stompbox pedals together in the loop (set to serial). I've never had a single level issue with any of them. With the loop engaged, they can be in any combination of on or off and the volume stays exactly the same. The 101B has one of the best and most transparent loops on any amp I've had. At least mine does.

I agree that the loop is nowhere near as bad as many state it is (although I have the Classic which may have a slightly different loop). I wouldn't say transparent like a Friedman but it has little effect on the tone. When I disengage the loop I only notice a very slight increase in punch and the feel livens up a bit. Not drastic though.

I have also had luck using "instrument level" standard stomps in the Bogner loop with no issues. I will try my EP booster next time I play.

I am paranoid about this as I had a bad experience with the Line Level loops of the Randall and Egnater MTS stuff not working for me and being able to control my own volume boosts as the lead guitar player in a two guitar band is crucial.

I really don't 'need' one of these amps and I certainly don't want to buy something for that much scratch if I already know a critical thing I need in an amp is not possible or a pain in my rear to achieve.

For 20 bucks you can get a Fish & Chips EQ and run it in the loop. Works as well as the more expensive MXR's.

I use my blue channel and boost that for a bit more gain depending upon the tune. For solos I use the red channel and up my volume on that as it has plenty of gain on tap!

The loop on my 100b has master level knob so just turn that up and you can volume boost red channel too

Putting a rhythm-cut in the loop works just as well as a solo-boost. Very easy to make, and under $20 in parts.
