I'm thinking if running two heads live and was wondering who has tried the Tonebone head switcher. I like the idea of running two heads and only one cabinet. Is there anything else out there that does the same but maybe better?

I never tried it
I read there is a split second delay

I got the Weber 2 head 1 cab switcher

It's new and only $150

plus it only goes between heads and the 1 cab

the headbone also incorporates your guitar signal
I found that aspect weird, cause I wanted to use something else, the gcx, to do my head switching

I use one. It works great. It has no delay that I have noticed and I use it in a band situation. It is nice and simple, controls the input and output of both heads with a simple button. The best solution if all you need is to switch from one head to another and maintain the correct load on the head not in use. Been using mine for years with no issues. Highly recommend. :)

There is a slight delay - 11.2 milliseconds, to be exact:

It's not an issue if you are willing to change your approach to channel switching. That is to say, you won't notice it provided you hit the switch just a hair before the beat you want the new amp to ring in on.....

I've got one, works fine to me.
I"ve never really noticed the slight delay :dunno:

Should be noted that it shouldn't be used with delay in the loop of the amps.

I like the webber cause it's just a speaker cable selector
and doesn't interfere w/ your head or "channel" switching

it sends unused head to 200 watt dummy load

the headbone is good if you want your channel switching to be done by the same device
more expensive though
but headbone is more compact

Safer bet is probably the Weber since it provides a true load to the unused head, the headbone does not.

Recorded direct with two Marshalls switching forth and back.

and a vid of two (other) MArshalls switched with it . . .
