I'm seriously considering picking up this E-LP-98LTC but I wanted some opinions on the price. It would end up being around $700 including shipping to Toronto. Is it too high?

that specific guitar is at the shinsaibashi store in Osaka. Im in Tokyo otherwise I would go there and check it out for you.
I dont know jack about edwards but a brief look at what is available says that is the cheapest one going.
Ishibashi doesn't have a reputation for screwing people over so I wouldnt worry too much about that.

In Japan the stores all have their end of the year sales where you really can get good deals on stuff. I would even try to see if you can get 10,000 yen knocked off the price if you told them that you would send them the money before end of the year.

Going by looks and not playing it I'd do it, it looks great!!

The guitar in pics is not 98LTC model, if that helps you. It's one of their lower line lps, still great guitars, but if you think you are getting one with nitro finish, then you'll be disappointed.

I don't mind the poly finish. How do you know its not the 98LTC? Maybe I can get them to lower the price if its another model.

Bindings are white for one. the black 98ltc comes with "aged white" yellow bindings. I've owned a bunch of edwards, so I kinda can tell by taking a look.

That looks like 92CD with pu covers & pickguard removed. Used & with a blemish I think you are not getting a good deal at all for that model.

The models with nitro finish sound distinctively different from poly finished ones. If you want an old LP vibe those with nitro are the ones to get, otherwise they are both great guitars & poly kinda looks better I think.

I'd say for 700 ask them to throw it in a hardshell case. You gonna need one anyway & the guitar will be safe while traveling to you.

Looks like for the 92CD the price is still about the same. looking around the prices ranged from 52,500 yen up to 77,280 (for reference the price listed is 49,800 fo he one you are looking at)

a break down of what the 98 and the 92 go for

98 LTC 49,800 to 89,800
92 CD 52,500 to 77,280

Hope that helps to put it in perspective.

I've got one of your old Edwards

Bummer that they overlooked aging the neck binding... Looks fake

Right there with you, buddy! It is an awesome guitar as far as playability & sound go, but looks pretty lame.

Which one?

An LP-112-CE. I picked it up from mike (headlessdeadguy). It's a damn good guitar IMO. Nice and heavy.

O, yeah, the ole good 112CE. Very good one for D tuning with 11s, that thing kills with Uberschall.

Edwards prices (new) on Ebay seem to be creeping up lately...just something I noticed even though it doesn't pertain to your situation. :)

Yeah, I've been getting some really great tones out of it. It will probably be one of the guitars I actually hang onto.

I've been wanting one,but i can't find one for sale, which models are the best? And which one are
the cheap models?
I won't buy from ebay anymore.
