I'm keen to see what the new uber is all about.

I've always loved the clips of the originals and Rev2s (greens).

Do they actually come up for sale often or are they pretty much impossible to find now?

I've seen two or three for sale in Australia in the 12-18 months (I seem to recall you're an Aussie). I guess it depends what your definition of rare is, but that's not too bad really.

Thanks mate - yep that's right I'm Aussie ?

That's not too rare by my definition haha.

It's an amp I've always wanted to try one day so mainly wanted to make sure they're actually obtainable ?

They're out there... I've had a few different Rev.2's, all of them offering something slightly different (but always fantastic) when it comes to that legendary Ch.2. I've noticed too, they kinda go through these periods of high-demand, low-demand - hell for a while one member here was collecting pretty much every Rev.2 he could get his hands on - it was epic. I've seen them sell (we're talking all good-excellent condition amps here) from $1600USD to $3500USD all dependent on the market direction.

They offer something really special. They do. Is it worth having for that one special thing? That'll be up to you.

I did know where an original/ prototype was but dont know who it got sold to. There were only 2 or 3.

Thanks for your help guys - i'll keep an eye out and see what comes up :)

First Uber I ever owned was an original version (serial sign in the 40's). It was the most crushing amp I'd ever heard but I ended up trading it for a rare one-off, figuring I could always just buy another Uber. I spent the next 10 years buying and selling every other version of the Uber, trying to recapture the magic of that first one. I finally found another original version and it was every bit as great as I remembered. They are worth it, IMO.
