Very cool...he's an incredible player (and was the class of the Eagles before they screwed him for financial reasons). That's one of the coolest/best phrased solos of all time.

Pretty cool, just with there was less delay on his sound.

Cool find. One of the great melodic leads. Definitely one people know exactly how it is supposed to sound, that ya gotta play right.

Bought a Carvin 12 string, and then a double neck, years ago just to play this song. One of the greatest songs of all time.

Damned awesome! One of my favorite songs ever...
Can you imagine 20 years from now what these video's will look like?
30 second's of barre chorded garbage with effects followed by a solo of 32'd note dribble..
Man this makes me feel like the guitar really is dead.

Joe Walsh said in a Guitar World interview that Felder wrote the music to this song before Henley wrote any lyrics. Walsh said Felder wrote it, regardless of what Henley claims.

Most of all the bullshit today will be forgotten and Hotel California will still be played and remembered. I said the same thing about grunge and look, 90% of it is gone and forgotten.

we still jam this song all the time. songs like these are just timeless.
Felder is great, thanks for showing us how to play it, in the wrong key (joking) :D

I never realized that anybody contested the fact that Felder wrote the song. Did Henley actually try to take credit?

So that's how to play it right .... a little different than I have been doing it.

Great tip on bending up to and down to chord changes. One of the all time tastiest solos!

Well whoever wrote it ripped off Jethro Tull
Sorry someone had to open that can of worms :)

So awesome. The phrasing and bends are just killer.

A couple months back I was lucky enough to work on one of Don's strats while he was hanging around waiting. He picked up an acoustic guitar and started playing the Hotel California riffs and I about crapped myself. It was a pretty surreal moment for sure! That guy is a bad ass player.

I watched the "history of the Eagles" on one of my pay channels like a month ago...Henley just said that Felder would write these riffs and play them over and over, record it and give it to Henley/Frey and then they would write lyrics to it. Henley and Frey both said that that song musically was Felders but they wrote the words...since Frey and Henley wrote the lyrics to 90% of the songs they wanted a bigger cut..
