One of the greatest Rock guitar solos of all time

Walsh said Felder wrote it, regardless of what Henley claims.

He picked up an acoustic guitar and started playing the Hotel California riffs and I about crapped myself. It was a pretty surreal moment for sure! That guy is a bad ass player.
I find your attitude toward this subject refreshing and I'm in 100% agreementDeath by Uberschall":35p9732z said:I really hate the business side of the music industry. It's very rare to have a band situation where all of the lyrics and music are written, played and sang by the same person (Stevie Wonder). It is usually a group effort where everybody adds their little "something" to it. The last CD I recorded with my old band, Core9, had to list out in the liner notes all of the credits for the lyrics and music individually for the 11 songs on it, all because the singer wrote just the lyrics to only 1 song, and she had to have credit for that!! She didn't write any music or melodies to anything on the CD. I personally wanted the liner notes to read, "All words and music by Core9", because I always believe it's a team effort IN A BAND SITUATION. And this comes from the person (me) who wrote all of the music for 10 of the 11 songs and lyrics for 3 of those 11 songs. Why? Because it's this kind of crap that tears bands apart. That's what happened to the Eagles. If I were to pay you up front to go into a studio and play what I wrote, then I have full rights to it. But if a band goes in and each member of the band does the part he/she wrote for the song while not getting paid, all members get equal shares of the pie. That's my thoughts on how it should work.

I had a very similar situation with my early 90's band, where I was the pricipal music writer and also wrote quite a bit of the lyrics. I never asked for any credit beyond the band as a whole, but the singer eventually tried to take full credit for all songs by changing a few words and claiming himself as the writer.

Can you imagine 20 years from now what these video's will look like?
30 second's of barre chorded garbage with effects followed by a solo of 32'd note dribble..![]()
Man this makes me feel like the guitar really is dead.
Most of all the bullshit today will be forgotten and Hotel California will still be played and remembered. I said the same thing about grunge and look, 90% of it is gone and forgotten.

You realize that 90% of the music that was around when the Eagles were aroud is gone and forgotten too? Just in case you didn't notice.![]()
Sounds like someone's showing their age and their inability to mature as music evolves... how them 8 tracks holding up again?![]()
