I accidentally "ripped someone off" as a buyer on ebay....

So i bought this old digital 8 camcorder to convert some of my old home vids to digital. Well, the thing didn't playback tapes at all, so i filed an ebay return. The seller agreed to take it back and refund me. I shipped the item back using the ebay issued shipping label. The seller said it was delivered, but was having trouble issuing the refund. I contacted ebay a few days later, saying i hadn't gotten my refund yet. Ebay, automatically issued a refund. No reply from the seller. Then I get the camcorder back (return to sender label), after my refund was issued. Its been sitting here for a few days, and i still haven't heard from the seller.
I feel weird about just keeping it, and its not like i really want it since it doesn't work correctly. How long should i wait with no reply before i just ebay it for parts/not working and collect that coin as well? I can't ship it back without a corrected address, and the guy hasn't replied. If i were him, i'd be pissed and want the item back, but nothing!

The reason I wouldn't worry about it just yet is that it has only been a few days. Things happen. Maybe he lost his phone. Maybe he forgot a password. Maybe he got sick. Maybe he had a death in the family. Maybe he got called into work for emergency. You never know.

PS: I've been wanting one of those too but keep pushing it off due to concerns about things not working and me getting frustrated quickly. Temped to just send my stuff to a digital conversion firm but have done zero research on that.

The other thing to consider is, maybe he doesn't care if he gets a broken camcorder back. I know I have done the same thing before. For instance, I sold a Greenback that i thought was good. The guy that got it said it was blown. I refunded him and told him to keep it or throw it away. Im not sure what type of $ but i cant imagine its too much.
