Maybe the best 85 bucks I've ever spent.

Don't get me wrong I won't be busting it out at any live setting any time soon. But for home jamming......it sounds surprisingly good. It's clean.....it's loud....it sounds big. I wasn't expecting much.......I'm sure I'll try something else like an SLA-2 or a tube power amp later.......but for 85 bucks..... c'mon!!

Those are pretty good power amps for the money, $85 you cannot go wrong

I was using a Velocity 150 with an Axefx...I actually preferred it to the 2:90.

Eventually it ran out of headroom though at gigs...so I switched to the SLA-2.

What ohm load are you running?
8 no wait a minute 16 I guess.....one 16 ohm cab a side.....does that stay at 16 or is it split at 8? Even if it's 16 it's way loud sitting in a room at least lol.....

I use my ISP vector 112 power sub too I guess I should mention that.......it's 300 watts powered.....it does the crossover separation thing and adds to the headroom. That's chained to one cab though..

So how do you like the SLA-2 in comparison?

I liked the 'reactance' knob on the 150. It allowed me to quickly dial in a little bass in a bright room. The ART is cleaner and crisper though...and I like the extra power.

Is that the same thing as the "definition" knob? That's what they are calling it on this thing....some sort of a dampener or something? They claim it helps the power amp project better in a mix......I won't be using it in a live situation though......I would get an SLA-2 or mabye one those new Carvin light weight amps for that..

Sounds like that is still 16 ohms per side. The Velocity 100 I've been looking at only puts out 28 watts at 16 ohms...I don't know that it will be enough with a band.....I've used the old Mosvalve and its plenty of power rated 80 watts @ 4ohms....roughly 30% more power than the Velocity 100. Hard to know if the ratings are the "real" though.....

Yeah I commented in that classified thread where you were looking at that 100......the manual for this 120 says not to run it at anything under 8 ohms bridged.....they "claim" it's 120 bridged at 8 ohms......so the 100 would maybe be 100 bridged at 8......so they would claim......

From what I understand they made the 150 then the 120 and finally the 100 they make today. I played a 120 and did not like it at all...significant differences between the 2.

That's interesting lol.....I'm sure the ART is pretty awesome though anyway...

I don't remember if the 100 was bridgeable. Have to check the manual again....
