I don't know what to do..

A few hours ago I went to my garage to take some tool. Then I heard a sound. Kitties were crying. Maybe calling mom to feed. Garage is full of tools. So, I took out of them my garage and put them in the box. Does mommy cat take these kitties?? Or kitties are abandoned??

I'm reasonably sure the mother brought them there, so if she isn't lost or dead is likely to return to the garage. Is it safe to keep the kittens in the garage for now with a bed, food, and water? If the mother returns, see if she has collar. If not I would call dispatch/animal control and have all of them taken in so they can scan the mother cat for a microchip.
