Since I geek out about this stuff lol, any more details on the chain: guitar, pickups, mics, preamps, etc. Which Engl cab was that? Was it the XXL w/V30?

On both clips the amp was extremely loud. pretty much like a non master volume plexi on 6.
I don't know about guitar or pickups because it was a re-amped signal. He had what looked like a Stam Audio Neve style mic pres and APIs, but I also have no idea which ones he used.
Regarding mics, it was a single SM57. No post eq or compression. Cab was an ENGL with V-30s, I believe. But I'm also not sure.
Sorry for not being more helpful. I usually try to be as good as possible on notes at my place, but when it comes down to someone else's studio, I do not get to nerdy about what they are using.
Cheers

Extremely underwhelming in my opinion. Very average sounding high gain amp. Absolutely nothing special at all. I'd expect more for $1000, never mind $6000.

That is absolutely fine. I myself don't like a lot of amps and guitars too. Different taste.

I've listened to the clips and while I got to hear what I already expected, I heard a weird comb-filtering effect in especially clips #2 and 3.
Could be the production, but the mids had this chewy, kerrangy almost ring-modulator thing going on.

I can come pretty close to this tone with my Engl Savage 60, but where the Larry's seem to shine is this mix of openness and saturation that almost seems contradictionary. For people that will jump on the 'your Engl is way too compressed' bandwagon, y'all obviously never played a Savage 60. :gethim: ;)

I see the appeal of them, but as others said, a good player in a good room with a good engineer can work magic on 'lesser' amps as well.

So did Larry mod the marshall that Dino from fear factory used to use before it was stolen?

I don’t have a dog in this fight either, but that first SoundCloud clip sounds killer. Definitely a special tone there.

The guys I have spoken too after they got a Dino sold all their other high end amps. Was that to recoup funds or is because they are that good?

That's killer. You can hear how its open in the right frequencies and compressed in others. Such a unique trait. What channel on the amp is it and settings?

Thanks man, I appreciate! And I do apologize for the delay, but here it is.
That's channel three, British.
Punch 8:00, Bite 10:00, Gain 12:00, Channel Volume 3:00, Treble 1:00, Middle 12:00, Bass 11:00, with all three channel switches off. Master 12:00, Presence 10:00 and Reactance 10:00.
Cabinet is a 97 Marshall Anniversary with 25w Greenbacks.
Also, it might worth to mention that the guitar had very low output PAF pickups.
I freaking love this amp.
