I got a Dual Wreck pedal coming. Strymon Iridium headed back I think....

I gig with an Orange Dual Baby and have a backup. Great sounding amps and I'm really digging the Super Crush 100 and Baby amps from Orange.

I starting thinking about a different backup at my last gig and was researching the Strymon Iridium. Don't get me wrong, I think it sounds great but just a bit short of sounding heavy. I think the sounds are awesome. I was going to use it with my Seymour Duncan Powerstage.

I started looking at the cheaper pedals like the JIMS 800 and the Dual Wreck and thought as a backup, it is easy to just go right into a P.A. if needed. Seems to sound killer and figured for thr price, why not give it a whirl.

I still don't think anyone has nailed the ultimate gigging, non tube, non amp modelling amp. Someone needs to do an analog solution with a great d.i., three killer tones, and more convenient.

I wish I could blend the Iridium, Dual Baby, LINE 6, Revolt, etc. Make a Frankenstein...lol.

I got the Dual Wreck today and I gotta say, pretty impressive pedal!! Definitely captures the feel of an amp and sounds great even sounds great thru my 1x12 cab. Really likes boosts and my Griffin "Boris" works great with it.

Nice! I gotta say the youtube clips sound pretty good for those TC pedals. Theres so much out there. I guess a lot of it comes down to the number of tones you actually need.

Id offer up the Two Notes Le Clean as a tube alternative to the above. It has 2 switchable tones (totally clean, and gritty crunch). Then you just throw a pedal in front of it, and you have a nice palette.

Have you seen the Laney Loudpedals? 60w solidstate amp in a pedal.
Can also run IRs out of them to go direct.
Might be worth checking out.

I actually had one of those at one point, lol. I didn't gel with the one I had but was a cool pedal and idea! I had that Ironheart.

I’ve kinda settled on the Friedman IR-X as my small format backup solution.

It’s a bit of a one trick pony, but I could get through a gig with it in a pinch. It’s also decent for recording direct.

I'm actually thinking of getting an IR-J. I liked the IR-D and IR-X when I owned them at different times but the IR-J is probably more of my tone to be honest. They are cool solutions.
