Not my thing either. Like G n R as a band, and his playing fit really well, but nothing I was ever looking to emulate.

When the first album came out, a friend of mine (Who happened to look exactly like Axl) loaned me his tape for a week, and I didn't like it. Later, when Nirvana came out, along all their shitty clones, I found that GnR was a pretty damn good sounding group after all.
I do like his tone on the solo of November Rain though.

Having said that: When a song from AFD comes on in a loud bar, it has a certain ring to it, don't you think?
