Maybe lay out the EQs for us just to see what you were mussin' with if you have the time. Glad the 65s killed it.

LP Custom with Duncan JB in the bridge, straight into the amp.
Bogner 4x12 with G12-65's.

Diezel VH4 with SED =C= EL34's.

Channel 3:
Gain: 1:00
Volume: Noon
Treble: Max
Mid: Max
Bass: 9:30
Presence: 2:30
Deep: 2:00
Master: 11:00

Ceriatone Chupacabra:

Resonance: 10:30
Presence: 10:45
Bass: 8:45
Mid: 3:00
Treble: 10:00
Master: Noon
Era Switch: To the right

And you didn't throw a mic on it? ;)
Sometimes the room itself is the missing piece of it all... Resonance and reverb, it's the 4th dimension musically speaking. Just sayin'...

I don't own any recording equipment or mics. Just my laptop with built-in webcam. :(

Mac or PC?

Mac.
It's doable, not as good as a lot of other options out there, but it's doable and better than many alternatives. I've found - personally - I've had some amazing tones happening and I set up a 3 mic config to capture ambience, swirl, 3D and all that good shit, and it comes out alright (sometimes) and most other times, not even 50% of what I'm actually hearing. I love it when an amp and guitar sing naturally with no post production fx - so hard to nail that recorded most of the time if at all :dunno:

I dont know if this will help but Arjen Lucassen is once again a fan of mics. In the vid below is kinda interesting, he goes over using different amp, mic techniques and types.
