But what's up with the can opener guitar? I guess you could tap a keg with it though.

Ouch... sound slike Vitto was taking tone advice from "speed kills" Batio! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3Np5HkWS7w Heavy chorus and verb.... I do like Vitto though, he sorted out that tone issue on later recordings. Some great hooks but man they were a cheese ball band.

I liked that fake metal tone, it reminds me of the 80's. :D

dude i've been listening to that song so much lately. its so awesome and the riff is so catchy to me haha.

I didn't like his vibrato, he's solos sounded sterile and soulless.

I thought he only played Steinbergers with no headstock. interesting to see without one...

And I liked PRIDE. not so much the other stuff.

Maybe you should listen to Impelliteri or Rusty Cooley. Vito's solo's were full of melodic content. They were like mini songs.

I actually dig that tone and I got to see him play at Lamours years ago.
That album was before the ADA.
He was using a Marshall with a preamp/boost out in front. It was the same setup when I saw him play back in the day before he switched
to the ADA's. He used to gig with Marshalls and Jc120's and switch between the 2 via A/B.

Well said...this brings back great memories  I hadn't heard this tune in many years.

I guess that video was pre-Pride?

Vito is one of my all time favorites...

I never heard this one? then again i dont i recall buying any of their stuff but Bratta was pretty clean sounding and did the tapping stuff well. the intro riff sounds like an Since You've been Gone played backwards. sounds like a JMP late 70's Marshall boosted a bit, not a bad tone at all actually for that scene.

Yup this was before Pride and almost broke up the band. They signed a contract with a crap record company and they had all sorts of problems. They were signed in 83 and it took them until 87 to get out of the deal and then signed to atlantic. I remember when all of this was going on because I used to go see the band back in the day

Yup, definitely boosted Marshalls. There was a rumor that he slammed the front end with a rockman preamp but its never been confirmed. Most people say it was a tubescremer into a Marshall. I could never see exactly what he was using because they used to use the screens to block the gear. I got to see behind it once and there were Marshalls and a Jazz chorus for clean. Jon Levin used to use a similar setup but he used the 2205 Marshalls with a Graphic EQ in the loop with the level Cranked and the mids scooped a bit! All his controls were on 10 LMAO :D

Ralph it totally sounds like a TS in front of a JMP. Pretty simple actually. Jon Levin a;ways gets an outstanding tone even when i saw him with the JCM2000's..thats funny cause i used to put a BOSS graghic eq in the loop of my JCM800 back in the day for lead boost and use a PQ-3 in the front to boost..man those were the glory years : ) sooo metal.

Suits the music very well. And at the end of the day, that's what it's all about.

Good stuff.

I hate that singer's voice....

"When the childwen cwy..."

I'd rather listen to Don Dokken whine... and that is saying something...
