I got no room for my gear! Dammit... What's a gear hoarder to do????

Start renting it out. Clears space and makes the gear work for you!

Move into a bigger house; that's what I'm doing

Between my guitar shit and the wife's sewing shit were moving on up. Tired of our bedroom doubling as a studio and sewing storage area.

You are not alone my friend... before the kids = man cave/ LAN gaming/studio, after the kids = my gear jammed in just about every closet possible and scattered across different rooms... the struggle is real!

That's what I did. 4000sf is still not enough but good enough. :)

Less than 1200sf., built in 1901, it's a gear heads worst nightmare

I rent a 1100sf apartment, I feel ya   Moving is not really an option considering what I have is considered large in Honolulu... buying not really an option at the moment... unit down the hall just sold for over 700k... Hawaii aint cheap folks, but it is pretty nice

Totally understand. Our house is in one of the hottest areas in our city right now. It's appreciated almost 60k since 2004. I like where we are so I'm no going anywhere soon. Gotta love urban revitalization.
Still not as cool as Hawaii though.

My gear is scattered throughout my bros houses and my storage unit. That way they all get to enjoy the fruits of my labor.

My next move is to a warehouse in an industrial area with a bathroom, a/c and security. About 4 miles from my companies yard. Will be able to blast loud day or night there. Gives me something to work for.

I've got a 1400sf appartment with a 1000sf basement. In the basement, about 650sf are fully dedicated to music and gear hoarding in general. I think it's a good compromise. I feel more limited by the total amount of money I can dedicate to gear than the storage

Got you beat in my 700 sq ft. apartment :(

I got booted out of the house by the wife so I added on to the back of my garage and built a 500 sq ft studio/jam/bar room. Climate controlled, super insulated, tile floor, full bar, awesome lighting. Best thing I ever did.

I fucken hate you lol   Living the dream my friend!

A bigger house is not the answer, you'll just end up buying more stuff and eventually feeling crammed in again anyway! I just sold my smallish 1,200' home and bought/built a new 2,200' house, so roughly x2 the size, and in less than a year it's already as stuffed and tight feeling as the old one, pfft. And the sad thing is I even claimed the largest of the secondary bedrooms as my new studio/game/media room, including better planning and arranging for this one (hanging all guitars on walls, stacking cabs, etc). I know, first world problems lol..but I envy the dudes that can build or have a stand alone space separate from the fam! That's the real answer...bastids!

I converted my 3 car garage to a soundproof room (up until the LA County screwed that last year).

It was great to blast a 100w Marshall at 2 am and not find police at the door.

Now it's got a car parked in it, due to the previous owner doing subversive crap to sell the house.
