I need a practice amp/unit that I can run with headphones

I use a *Whichever amp* into a Tube Amp Doctor Silencer running into Logic, and then adding the Waves amp (bypassing the amp, and keeping the cabinet). You can get some really cool tones from your existing amps. Also, the Waves Amp is pretty useful for a lot of stuff.

If you're just looking for something to practice on... What about the iRig for iPhone/iPad? Or pick up a Line 6 Pocket Pod... They are all really cheap, and work really well for practicing with headphones.

I use an old Digitech GNX3 for this. Like the pod, it works very well in this application.

If you want something new, Dunlop is still making the Rockman Guitar Ace:

The Ace family is very simple, though I have one and like the amp simulation. You can also pick up the older, but more sophisticated Rockman amplifiers on eBay without much effort.

I picked up a Yamaha THR10C and it sounds great but it's going back because of a noise issue.
The noise isn't just my amp, looks to be a common problem...

I have a standard THR10, and mine has no noise problems and sounds good through headphones. I think the THR10 has more options for higher gain sounds as well as opposed to the THR10C.

Yeah I could have grabbed another one but I didn't want to take the chance.
I grabbed a 1x10 orange combo, sounds good enough...
