I now have a new amp... [Diezel D-Moll]

I'm thinking Engl SE570 pre and VHT two/ninety/two power amp. Or whatever power amp you like if you're having difficulties getting Fryette stuff.

Your band sounds similar to Tool. I think Adam Jones mixed a Marshall Superbass with a Diezel.

You want something tight? Don't get a Bogner XTC
I had a dream last night about my Engl Blackmore catching fire...
I would steer clear of US made products ($$) unless you can find some used
If you like Diezel tones, you can't go wrong with a D-Moll

Has anyone tried the ENGL Powerball II? I don't mind the shared EQ's, and it has four channels. The D-Moll above looks to be sold. Blergh.

I'm off to NAMM with work and wont be back until the 2nd of Feb, so no decisions until then, but thanks for the tips so far!!

What about the other no brainer choice? Randall Diavlo 100 watter?? Probably as tight as a nun's privates, as gained out as you need it, and relatively cheap!

What an ignorant thing to say.

FWIW, I have decided I don't want to go the Axe FX or Kemper route. Just too much complexity involved, and I am not convinced they will sound as good. Still undecided apart from that.

A TS808 pedal tightens her right up

And what part of it would be ignorant?

I currently have a JVM410HJS. It is a fantastic amp both sound a feature-wise. I do miss some of the tightness with other brands I have used but it does the job remarkably well. I run a Maxxon VOP-9 in front of it to help tighten things up a bit more. I don't love carrying it around all of the time when I play. I'm not quite ready to move to Bias as my main rig but I use it for jamming around the house and having some fun.

That being said, I am actively looking once again at a Kemper but this time in the rack version. I had the previous lunch box version for a year and I did really like it. I just couldn't jive with it live at the time through a power amp and cab and it was missing a few key pieces (Librarian for organizing, a working footswitch solution, and the performance mode). All of those things have been answered and thus, I think that I can move back to it. The solution for me would be very, very workable with the FRFR that I'm looking at. It sounds damn close as well and is easy to use. Don't be fooled thinking it isn't good enough. There are plenty of recordings and pro players using it live now to justify it. The Axe II is the same. Many, many folks using those as well.

Still....having some second thoughts about selling my Marshall. I really do like it.

Best of luck with your choice.

Honestly, I had one and had to run an eq through the loop to get it to sound good. Without that it was average at best. Now the 45 watter, that's a different story..the 100 sounded sterile compared to my friends 45...

Marshall JCM 800 reissue and various boosts to taste... the original tone

my reply was gonna be

"a 2203 an overdrive and a blackface bassman for cleans"

I just sold one last month actually. I liked it, but it wasn't doing the tones I wanted.

have you tried the 100w EVH with the three proper channels ?

you can get them for about £850 or less used these days.

Other than that it's slim pickings in the UK withiut shelling out megabucks for mesa, bogner, diezel...

hughes and kettner ?

I was going to say the same thing regarding the 100 watt 5153. You said you like the 50w, except the channel sharing and such, which the 100w fixes.

Mark V would probly work well too, but cost/benefit anywhere but the US is high (and that's coming from a guy who owns almost exclusively Mesa for amplification).

I just discovered that Diezel UK do payment plans. That makes a brand new D-Moll or VH4 pretty doable. But I'd need some sort of midi foot pedal to switch the channels.

Its either Marshall or Fender all other amps are variations of Marshall or Fender.I would stick with a Marshall.......

Vox started out as a organ amp i believe  :scared:

Okay, have found a D-Moll with the footswitch for £1000. Getting it delivered for Saturday!

& yes, with midi you can assign the midcut on/off on any channel

Once in awhile I use a clean boost in front and I love every tone it has
