I got the holes drilled and mounted the breakout panels from my old pedalboard to the new one. I think I have the layout finalized, and I'm ready to wire it up.

I think this is the layout I'm going to do.

Signal path is going to be:
Input jack
Peterson Tuner
EHX Freeze
Morningstar ML5 switcher
A)Griffin Analog Beez Nutz
B)EQD Warden and Griffin Analog Echoplex Bias
C)Modded Rat
D)Hermida Zendrive
E)Blackout Effectors Whetstone (or the clone when I get it)
FX8 Input
(Left out only)
EHX Pitchfork
TC Mimiq
Stereo into Mesa Amps
FX8 Stereo sends
Return to both amps

The FX8 is going to control both amps, and switch the Morningstar ML5 switcher via MIDI, while doing stereo effects in both loops. I have a days worth of making cables and programming ahead of me.

What do you think so far?

Looks really good man, however... I think you are being slightly optimistic thinking its just going to be "a" days worth of making cables and programming.

I think I can do it in 24 hours.

As long as I don't sleep...
What does hybrid mean here?
Analog signal path up front and digital in the loop. It's a blend of both. Rather than relying on all modeling for my effects, I'm real analog effects and amps and just using digital time based effects.

Hybrid is usually a blend of analog effects and amps and digital effects, modeling, and IRs. My previous band used modeling preamps into a Mesa power amp and cab for a hybrid setup. I was using real amps and a processor (the FX8) for effects, but I'm adding pedals up front to keep the input analog.

Thanks! That makes sense. Appreciate the explanation.

I got all the power mounted up and ran the cables to the breakouts. It's a bit of a rats nest so far, but I'm about half way done. Everything is powered up.View attachment 445315View attachment 445317View attachment 445316

So I stumbled across these cable clips that so far have held up pretty well for the past 6-8 months, if they will stay a permanent solution I would prefer them to the little zip tie tie downs.

The XL is pretty big, the L seems about right think I was getting about 12-14 cables in the clip. But I use George L’s and those use a .155 size cable

Those look interesting. I might try them out.

That looks super cool! I wanted to do something similar. How much money are we looking at for a project like this (if you don't mind me asking)?

Parts and labor.

The parts depend on what you are using. That half you can mostly price out on your own. If you make the cables yourself, the plugs are the big expense. Cabling can be difficult to add up, so it helps to get it in bulk and overshoot what you need.

The labor is what gets you because it takes a lot of hours. I cannibalized my old board to build this one and I'm already 8-10 hours into this build without even wiring up the switcher.

Are you looking to have your board built out, or are you going to do it yourself?

Nice, thanks! I will be building one similar to yours at some point.

Nice!! 😎 I have become a pedal fan during the last few years and have bought quite a few of them. Should really plan somekind of a board…

Damn that’s some clean work.. U weren’t fuckin around…

Ok, that makes sense.
What does Schecter mean when they use Hybrid as part of the C-1 Hellraiser name?

Research indicates:

“A unique fusion of Schecter's
HELLRAISER and SLS models, the C-1
Hybrid is a combination of the most sought-after features of each. The Hellraiser's signature highly figured quilted Maple top is now redesigned with a more sculptured arch and is set into the Mahogany body with an increased upper access cutaway.”

A hybrid between their models. I think of it in ESP LTD speak where a M Series is a flat top and pointy headstock and an H Series was a carved top and 3x3 headstock. The hybrid would be the MH Series, with the carved top and the pointy headstock.

I got it all done today. All the connections are tested and working (on the guitar side at least; I still need to test the vocal and IEM stuff). This is how it ended up.

I had one bad cable on the Right Footswitch line, so I had to fix that and it works fine now. The programming was a breeze. I set each scene up with its own MIDI number and and just used the (Learn) feature on the Morningstar ML5 to program the loops. I can modify them on the fly with the top of the unit and save them easily if I get creative later.

Right now I have it set up to do what it did before, with a few extra patches. I set up a stereo chorus, which was something I've been meaning to do without all this extra crap, and it sounds great. I'm about to take it to the jam spot and play it through both rigs and really dial it in. I want to set up separate delay and reverb patches for my leads, but for now I just wanna fine tune it and rock it.

Nice work with all that cabling and layout. Looks great! Nice selection of pedals, too.
