No doubt, as I've heard from clients telling me when they exchange Euros for USD it winds up being a lot higher than the regular exchange rate. My overseas clients freak out when I tell them it's a 4.2% surcharge, but that's what they take off the top before I get paid.
Earlier today a client ordered a pair of handles from Canada. Handles $50, Shipping via USPS $47, paypal fees brought the total to $101 USD.
Yes, you read that right, the shipping and paypal fees was more than what I sold the handles for. It's a racket.
I just checked on DHL for shipping vs USPS, too. They'll give you a rate higher than USPS Express Mail (not Priority Mail) if if you spend $1958 per month, or their discount becomes less. Between the tariffs, fees, import duties/customs and brokerage fees, it's positively financial rape.
