I think I need to give up on new MIM Charvels

Every year they figure ways to cut more corners. They used to have 1/4 sawn maple necks, Grover tuners, and gloss bodies. The satin pain is not only cheaper, but is better covering imperfections. I suspect production will be moving to Indonesia soon, as they marginalize us every production year.

Here’s another kicker. I brought it back to the store 12 noon yesterday and showed it to them. Bu 6PM it was tagged and back on the rack being sold as new.

Poor form. People are just out of control these days. From the dreadful threads about getting scammed on reverb to stores selling screwed up guitars as new, that they know are straight up DEFECTIVE. UNBELIEVABLE.

you should definitely out the store so we can avoid those shysters!!

You should see some of the garbage coming out of the Charvel custom shop. I’ve seen THREE in the past month with cracked fretboards. WTF.

WHOA!!!! SHEER INSANITY!!! The custom shop is putting out garbage, that’s terrible!!!

the best Charvel custom shop I’ve ever played/heard was a newer model, I think a 2019 maybe, got It on here, a vanilla shake, and it played so effortlessly, and sounded so good. I really regret letting it go.

So, at least some of the guitars they are sending out are still awesome. What a statement!! “At least, SOME,” wow, all the custom shop guitars from Charvel should be awesome and perfect leaving the shop. Ridiculous.

the awesome Charvel I sold recently, it didn’t come with a string tree, so when you changed strings, you had to tune it flat, like really flat, then tighten the nuts at neck, and then hope you left the strings loose enough, so you didn’t have to undo the neck nuts and redo the process. But, once that was dealt with, the guitar was straight up spectacular. Easily the best playing and sounding Charvel custom shop I’ve come across. Even the stock tone zone and evolution sounded great in the guitar.
