I came across this video after having recently tuned my Strat to drop C. Weird, almost as if my phone is listening to me or tracking my habits...
Anyways I've been finding it's basically the most ideal tuning for Fenders. Or DGCFAD of course. Gets those lows popping and shaves off some of the abundant highs, widens the mids out.
This guy gets some sweet tones and actually delves into some of my own off hand playing styles, although much better executed lol.
I like the playful southern licks, as well as the spacious chords that can be combined with heavy riffing.
