Love J.Customs. I'm also watching that purple one on ebay but I think it's going to go for too much. You can get a new one at GC during a sale for that price. I'm not big on the TOL inlay either.

I was eying one of these a few years ago on one of the Japanese sites, and now on EBAY. I love that guitar. How does this one sound with the Korina body?

Prior to this guitar, I have had zero experience with korina so I was a tad worried that I would not like the tone but to my surprise, korina sounds a lot like alder to my ears.

Korina may have a slight more emphasis on the mids and highs but not a night and day difference when compared to alder.

Here's my only J.Custom left. Body is from the JC8620 spalted maple, neck is from a JC 8570M and the pickups are BK Rebel Yell. Last pic was my JC collection from a few years ago.

that pic of the 6 or 7 j customs is awesome. Now you only have 1? I noticed you have 4 or 5 Suhrs including a couple Moderns. Did you sell the J Customs to get your Suhrs? The J Custom I played recently not only played and sounded incredible, but the build quality was top notch also, I just didn't like the tree of life inlay. They appeared to be of the same quality as my Suhr Modern. Why did you ditch your J Customs, and how would you compare them to your Suhrs, especially for leads and solo type stuff? Thanks man!!

The J Custom I played felt, played, and sounded better than the Jems I have played, but the way it sounded is personal taste. The neck felt better, and it felt and appeared to be a solidly well built instrument. It was a newer model with tree of life inlay. It seemed to be as well built as the Suhr Modern I currently play. The J Custom was very nice, although, I guess it is Ibanez's finest luthiers/craftsmen who build them, so they better be a damn good guitar. I would say it can hang with anything in its price range. I think some people are turned off due to the fact that it is an Ibanez. Personally, if a guitar sounds and plays good, and a plus for it looking good also, I don't care what the brand. But I understand how a lot of guys don't want an Ibanez, just like me not wanting that irritating tree of life inlay on the fretboard!!

hey bro, can you please respond. It looks like you had 6 or 7 killer J Customs. I noticed now you have 4 or 5 Suhr's including some Moderns. Did you sell the J Customs to get the Suhrs? To you, were the Suhr's that much better than a J Custom? Did you sell the J Customs to fund the Suhrs? Was it the tree of life inlay you didn't want to look at any longer? I noticed the last one you have has no tree of life inlay.
