Maybe that woman got turned down last nite by her husband/boyfriend. Lack of sex piss ppl off.
OTOH, maybe she took it up the ass and is sore.

Never had anything but outstanding customer service, that sucks you got a hold of somebody having a crappy day, hopefully they are getting you taken care of now, PRS IS a great company, making great guitars, dont let that broad get ya down. whatch workin on anyway?? tuners? on a Custom or Standard?

That would have pissed me off too. I may not dismiss a company I know has a good product because of one baffoon, but I will certainly go over that persons head and voice my displeasure with said baffoon for the companies own good.
I have to deal with the public all day, every day. I treat people with respect, and I make them feel like my sole mission is to make them much happier than they thought they were gonna be when I leave. Its worked for 30 years. When your first line of defense (phone person) has an attitude, it reflects badly on your company.
If it were my company, I would want to know I had an attitude issue to deal with, and that person would be GONE :gethim:

I guess I'm the odd man out. I've never once called any guitar company. Not once. All the info I need is on line. Plus if a guitar plays nice and sounds good, that's all the info I need.

But the best customer service I've ever had is talking with Trace at Voodoo Amps. Top notch for sure. I will also agree that if I do call any company and get crappy customer service, I will probably not return. And yes, one person can ruin an entire company.

:)

Wow, why are so many people upset at this guy? because he decided not to deal with PRS anymore? There is really no excuse or reason for being treated that way, especially when all he was doing was making a simple inquiry. I really don't blame him. Although personally, I would brush off the first instance and try contacting someone else but, jebus...no need to get upset at a guy who came here to blow off some steam after a negative experience :dunno:

Treated that way? Damm, I'd hate to see you spend a few days in NYC.  You wouldn't last a second. :D

I'm usually very polite and soft spoken, but obviously I can't go to NY :D
I'd rip people a new asshole in Norwegian so bad I'd be arrested...
If there's a thing I truly madly deeply hate, it's other being rude to me because they have a bad day, or are "just like that".

PRS should find someone else to answer the phone

Thanks Hoff  That's all I was doing was venting. I needed answers, I asked here a few times...I never heard of birds and moons before and I was just getting frustrated. I have my buddys guitar and I want to get it set up fpr him but it had broken machine heads. Then I call the company and some woman was just flat out rude on the phone...it wasnt like I was being an asshole.

Anyways, I did get a call back from Mike there. Mike however was a very cool and helpful guy. The footprint on these tuners is the same as a schaller. The old style prs tuners with the collars were in fact made by schaller and they would physically snip and file the d and g string tuners to share the same screw. I just didnt want to drill new holes in my buds guitar...especially now that I found out that its worth ALOT of money. It has a very low serial number, set neck, brazillian rosewood fretboard with the moons and original pups, the pups in which he said can fetch $400-$600 a set, how much truth there? Idk, but Mike has been there since '87 and gave me the rundown of how back then they were just hopefull of keeping the doors open...they never filed any serial numbers back when my friend's guitar was build (1986)

So there you have it. Sorry I jumped to conclusions. He even laughed when I spoke of the woman answering the phone (Janet)...mentioned that she "is like that". In all honesty if I hadnt got the call back I wouldve written them off. I have been in business for myself and whether youre in a shitty mood or whatever, you always conduct yourself professionally...especially when youre selling guitars for thousands of dollars imo

I totally agree with you on absolutely ALL of it!! I wouldnt want some BITCH being the first person that people got a hold of and was the first rep of my company when someone called!! I wouldnt ever deal with them again... (And if you heard Shark Divers story you REALLY would never deal with them again!! Although he DID play mine when he was here...for about 7 seconds...LOL)

On your 86...if its all original, it could be worth a TON of jack! I have an 87 Standard (thats a solid color, not a flame top, with a sweet switch) and its worth around 4 grand or so. An 86 is worth even more. If its a Custom (flamed maple top) in good condition, its prolly in the 5500 - 6k range if I had to guess...minimum. The original T & B pups, they are worth big bucks too....so guys can make a modified guitar original again, not just for the tone....

Here is my 87....if your buddies looks the same its worth some decent KA-CHING (LOL My daughters favorite slang for cash now..  )

I've talked to EBMM, Mario from Axess Electronics, Scott from Splawn, Bob from Eurotubes, Doug from Doug's Tubes, Mesa Boogie many times, and a few others. I don't like waiting on emails, usually I call because I need help right now. I'm not looking to waste their time I'm just looking for 'customer service'.

Each of the companies above was very helpful as well as professional. PRS was very helpful as well once I recieved a call back. I just want to verify that...the woman who answered the phone however
