Anybody tried one of these yet?

Looks to be like a reissue of the RG565, but with an Edge III trem and Dimarzio AirNorton/D-Activator pickup combo.

The price is pretty good for these here in the UK. Thinking of trying one out..

Never heard of this one, I know they are not shipping into the USA.

Try one and report!

Whoa, I dig it. 565s are really cool looking. Never played one, sadly.

Yeah i thought it was a UK/EU guitar only. I can get one for £425 GBP shipped and a 7 day return policy just incase i decide it's not for me. Strongly considering placing an order.. In the past I always got bad GAS whenever i saw pics of your 565

Me neither Casey, but the RG565 was always my favorite looking Ibanez with the spec i wanted too. If this RGR465M can be in that ballpark tone/playability wise then it would be awesome!

Yeah that 565 I have from RVS Adam is a freak, big tone and the wizard neck is rock solid.

They are good guitars, but used for the same price you can get a Japanese Charvel or for an extra £100 a brand new one. Which IMO are a much better quality and sounding guitars.

Hey Dan,

I had one, there's a guy on a french forum selling one for like 350 euros, but yeah no return policy

i also jumped on it as the price/specs were very interesting, eventually sold it to an 80s metalhead, who is making much better use of it now

that being said, pretty good guitars, nice neck, good pickups, some tasty sounds, the bridge/trem is probably the weak point however, it's not bad but could be better, i would also put the money in a charvel ;) you know that's what you really want lol

Thanks for chiming in with the info Paul, it sounds like a great guitar! I still have my eyes on the Charvel SoCal, that will be my next purchase.. But i would like to try the Ibanez too. If i try the Ibanez and think it's worth buying, then I'll just buy both guitars!

That's my plan, but i'll still definitely check out the Ibanez too  The best price i found for the Charvel SoCal is £580.00 shipped from Thomann. Not bad!

I owned a 1994 565LB and it kicked ass!! I had it strung with .012-.068 so it was just ballsy tone for days!! I would like to try a 465M

This looks like an RG3XXV without the Edge Zero trem. The RG3XXVLB I bought dusts my Charvel So Cal.

Nothing beats the originals. I searched and waited and emailed and didn`t sleep well for a couple years to get the 565`s i now own. These cannot be replicated. The originals are IT. I got a 550 re-issue and a 770DX reissue and.....While being very good guitars, are not up to the originals. This is a fact. I tried the whatever they call it model like the 565 made in Indonesia and.................... Maybe this one`s better :aww:

I have an original 565EG, 770DXLB and 770DXVM. I think the Wizard III necks and Edge Zero trem are great updates and that the new ones rival the old fairly well.

I've been very, very close to picking up one of the new ones. The Indonesian pedigree has stopped me. I will say that the electronics config makes the most sense to me on a rock/metal guitar. There was a used one at my local GC that disappeared before I could make myself think it was a good idea.
