Anyone buy from Rich at Ibanezrules.com? I may pick up an Ibanez soon. Looks like he does a lot of detail setup if you want him to. I may give him a try and see how things go.

Years ago back when I played Ibanez, I bought from him a couple of times. Good guy to deal with.

Just bought from him recently-good guy, no problems.

Bought a few guitars from him
highly recomended
knows his stuff and has great tech skills

Highly recommended! The best part is you get a Ibanez that has been set up and looked over with a fine tooth comb by him.
He offers different packages and it is worth it,

Multiple purchases. If you're buying Ibanez, IbanezRules is the way to go. You simply will not get a new Ibanez that plays any better than one that comes from Rich. If you can afford the extra $, I highly recommend getting one of his upper end set up packages. It'll make the guitar really play and sound up to it's full potential.

His prices on guitars go way down after namm when the new ones are coming out.

I've bought a # of parts from him too. He knows his stuff, but he also knows when things are hard to get and he'll jack up the price. Black rear mounted 7 string locknuts (found on stock rg7620s and older 7420s) he now sells for $250...while the chrome version of the same thing sells for $80.00. Yea - that's right. $250 for a locknut. I recently bought a 2002 7420 for $250 just so I could get the locknut.

wow...that's funny but not really...ha I'll wait until after namm and see how the prices go

+1 for Rich. Bought my J Custom from him about 3-4 years ago.

Don't buy anything till after NAMM...

True. Not much new though this year from the catalog that I saw other than some Iron Label stuff and some hardtail axes.

That being said, Rich takes time and sets up the guitar perfectly. He does some very nice fretwork as well.

He will jack up prices on parts if they are his last one. Problem is, he has many of the parts that aren't always easy to get so you are kind of stuck that way.

There are some new Prestiges coming that haven't been leaked yet. Wait for his blow out.

I haven't bought from Rich, but if I were to buy another new Ibanez I'd try him first. I bought two new DCM100s a year or so ago. Both had significant issues despite coming from dealers that claimed to do fancy set ups and inspections before shipping me the guitars. Rich can't always get you the best price, but it seems like he's willing to at least sell you what you're supposed to actually get.

I bought a Jem trem arm from me and he sent the wrong one. Fair enough, he sent me the correct one, but he tried to tell me I'd ordered the wrong part (which I hadn't) and I don't think I ever got the return postage back.. He has a great rep though, and everyone makes mistakes / has bad days.

Thanks for all the replies! I think I'll wait until Namm is over and then see what happens on his website. :)

Not in our Canadian catalog. I hope you are right! That would be great for those that like the swirls.

Haven't purchased from him but I've spoken to him on a few occasions involving vintage ibanez models I had found at guitar tradeshows. He was quick to reply and very knowledgeable. Wouldn't hesitate to purchase from him.
