If I didn't bond with the CAA PT-100...

...how do you think I'd like the OD-100 SE+?
I had a PT-100 for a while, and I just never bonded with it. Great amp, but it just wasn't for me.
I tend to favor amps that are darker/thicker and are designed around V30's. (I'm a big Bogner fan...Shivas & Ubers)
I'd like to check out an SE+, but I'm not sure if I'm not a PT-100 guy, or if I'm just not a CAA/Suhr guy.
Thanks for any opinions.

"darker/thicker are designed around V30's" - that seems to be describing the SE+. I dig mine. Same clean as the PT, the updated crunch channel is cool and I really don't think the PT's lead channel gets as fluid and rich as the SE's

But who knows...the new PT is supposed to be out soon(NAMM). It may be awesome.

Yeah I was surprised about that when I had the PT-100. Ch. 3 always felt a little harsh and stiff to me, even if I adjusted the feedback setting. I felt like I was kinda fighting the amp, if that makes any sense. I love the clips I've heard of the thing, but I couldn't get into it.

I owned the PT-100 and SE+ at the same time
and I preferred the SE+ over the PT, so the PT
was Sold. Not much difference in the way of sound structure,
they were very simillar but the SE+ had a more
Fluid Lead Tone, Saturation and a slightly Mid/Lower-Mid
voicing compared to the Mid/Upper-Mid of the PT-100.
The SE+ was one of my Main Amps for years, I really
miss it and plan on getting another, as soon as I can.
I currently own a 2013 Bogner Ecstacy 101b now for my Darker,
Chewy, Marshall-esque Tones but the SE+ has and always
will be one of my Favorite Amps on the Planet!!!

I think it's so easy to find a dark, fluid sounding modern amp (almost all amps made today do it) - the hard part is finding that good old Marshally sounding amp (like the PT100)!

Different strokes...

I understand what you're saying but isn't there
1,000,000 more different Marshally Mid-Voiced
Amps on the Market?
From Custom Audio, Wizard, Splawn, Voodoo, Blankenship
PWE, Elmwood, Germino, Soldano, Cornford,
Landry, Blackstar, Friedman, Cameron, etc.....
Just to name a few.
The list is Endless for a Marshally Clone sounding
Amp...

True for the Marshall clones, but most of the amps you listed also do a higher gain, darker sound, IMHO.
