I will be completely honest, was Slash EVER really that good? He wrote some memorable riffs and solos, no doubt. He was in a huge band that had huge success. But I never have thought he was any better than anyone else. Shit, I hear guys on here that rip him to shreds. I guess he just had the "the look" for the time and became marketable and somehow, has been able to remain. Shit, Eddie hasn't done shit forever but at least I can understand how people admire him; he basically invented what he did, and had a huge hand in his own gear. Slash was just like " Yeah man, ghostbuild me some shit and i'll rest on my laurels." What was the last good thing he even took part in...the VW ad in 2004? He just seems like the basic bitch guitar hero that people grasped onto.

Agreed. Hugely overrated. That's why, to me, Jimmy Page would make a more sensible brand ambassador. When I think of famous Gibson LP players, he's the first to come to mind. Was he the greatest player? No, but, he wrote 5 times as many memorable riffs than Slash, and probably one of the greatest songs writers to ever walk the earth.

Hell, Bonamassa is way more popular. Sure, his act has gotten stale, but he's passionate about his Gibsons, whereas fagboy Slash plays them because they're handed to him, (for the most part).

And stop the pussification of the American male and STOP cutting all the wood out of my mahogany bodies! Pisses me off that I can hold a Strat in one hand and a LP in the other and can't tell the difference. To me there's just something very wrong with that. If your shoulder can't handle a 13-15 Lb Paul, go buy a Strat! That's what they told me when I was coming up.

Yes, get rid of the 200 variations of each model in a plethora of colors, it's not necessary, Gibson used to make the best guitars in the world, period, they should get back to what they do best. As I have said in the studio a million times. . . . LESS IS MORE!

I agree. And, if I did continue the Traditional line, I'd do 100% NON-CHAMBERED NO WEIGHT RELIEF. They're pussifying grown men crying about a 10lb LP!
