Not sure how much worse things can get. Hurricane headed straight up the middle of the state, my parents live in a mobile home, (though they're bailing out and staying with friends), and I'm bailing as well. We expect winds more than capable enough to level their property.

This is the largest hurricane on record. It's nearly 500 miles wide. The ONLY good news is that it's no longer a cat 5. But that could change, once it hits open water before landfall. This is a bad situation. Scariest I've seen in my 25 years in Florida.

Damn man...... in Michigan this storm is talked about daily on the radio.
Its supposed to be devastating. :aww:

Really hope it isn't as bad as predicted. Thoughts and prayers go out to all down there facing this.

latest NHC forecast cone shows a little nudge to the west... will know more when it actually makes the turn but it looks like all of Florida will get some of this one... If its a cat 2 by the time it reaches central florida we should be good. South Florida no so much unfortunately...

Yeah, I'm closer to Lakeland, but headed closer to Tampa. The storm is well over 400 miles wide, Florida is not! Depending where it hits, 150 MPH winds extend 50-60 miles from the eye, and up to 70+ winds as much as 180 miles from the eye.

That westerly nudge was our worst fears. But, the shear size, poses devastating and life-threatening conditions to the entire state, regardless.

Yeah, I think we will be OK in CFL. Will be Cat3 at most by the time it gets to us, probably 2. SFL, though, is about to get screwed. My mom and sister are freaking out.

My cousin works in St. Marteen, they got pounded when it was a 5 on Wednesday. It is huge and it isn't fucking around... total destruction on the islands after this one. Stay safe!

I'm starting to believe all the global warming bullshit. There is a third hurricane right behind this one.

Some of those islands have been leveled. Some, every person on them are homeless. Every business is gone.

Some parts of Puerto Rico are estimated to be without power for MONTHS. And, they only got a small taste.

Yup, we are getting one or two updates a day and right now they are rationing food and water. Dutch military has sent supplies as well as troops to help maintain order. If the devastation is not bad enough, in the aftermath there is wide spread chaos and you see both the best and worst out of people. Survival is both an inspiring and terrifying thing when people come for what you have.

You could be Charvel Dan so things are much better than they seem.

Anyone who needs to store their amps I will gladly be accepting. ;)

Seriously, you guys stay safe and remember that stuff can be replaced.. people not so much.
Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. The one time I didnt prepare cause the forecasters were always wrong I was without gas for 2 weeks. Good luck and God speed good sirs! Mojo sent.

I've been in Lakeland since 1987 and the only problem I've had was in 2004 when my roof collapsed after Hurricane Jean. Now I live in a brick apartment complex lol. Its supposed to head through here Sunday night and Monday morning. I ain't going to work Monday.

Pretty much this right here.

Prayers sent out to all affected.

Loss of power will be a real problem with all the power lines being above ground... still waiting for the turn! Stay safe everyone we might not have power to communicate in 48hrs

At first I was hating that westerly nudge but maybe that's not such a bad thing. If it travels right over you at least you get that break when the eye is over you. If you are just off to the side (more like Tampa was before the nudge) you get rain/wind the whole time.

I got an acoustic guitar, plenty of beer, and lots of Campbell's soup. Should be fine.
