I will be different and say DSL :D

Mostly because I owned a Mark III for several years, and I have never owned a DSL, even though I usually like them in the store.

Mark III - without qualification.

That said, which Mark III and with what options?

Was going to go for a DSL as a backup to my Jubilee. Played a 100H at a GC....definitely liked the Mark 3 purple simul better. And I love Marshalls. Not that the DSL was bad, just kinda sterile.....maybe a bias adjustment was needed? But the Purple stripe I had was a beast at volume, the DSL just got louder...not better.

I actually have both. It all comes down to what sort of voicing you want. The Mark III is infinitely more versatile, but if you're a Marshall guy, get a Marshall.

Having said that, I prefer my DSL100H hands down.

The "H" one is an abomination. Mark III all day.

How so? I played through a JCM2000 DSL for a week on tour, then my DSL100H right when I came back. Same basic tones, but I like the updates on the DSL100H over the JCM2000. I mean, so each their own, but if you get rid of the junk tubes in the DSL100H and get some quality glass in there, it really makes them shine.

That's all that matters right there.

OP asked a simple question, I gave a simple answer.
