If you were gonna replace a JB in a superstrat?

I have a Tone Zone in the bridge position of one of my Strats. It sounds good, but a friend brought over his Strat with a Duncan Custom and it sounded way better than the Tone Zone. I'm thinking of trying one in my Explorer.

Yep, Ive had the Full shred in a guitar before. Alder bodied guitar. Was very thick in the mids.
I liked it for that guitar. but I want something more polished...I might have to go with my GOTO the Arcane Pickups. but I'm yearning to try something different.

Dude, try the Super V, I PROMISE you, you will love it. if you want tight and punchy, this pickup is it. Sounds great also. Its sounds big, yet articulate.

watch this, it will give you an idea and keep in mind, through a good amp, it sounds better than this demo. it also tells about the pickup.

When I was listening to the clip I was thinking it really reminded me of a JB, and then they mentioned it was based on the JB proto  .

it was based on one of the early JB prototypes, but that pup was not chosen. there were a few, ad the super v was one of them, lynch got ahold of it, loved it and it became the super v. it is quite different from the JB. feel, touch sensitivity, it plays and feels like a low to medium output, the JB does not. it is way different.

Another vote for the H2+.

If you're looking for more of a hot PAF, it's also tough to beat the WCR Godwoods.

What about a Duncan Custom SH-5 ?

I have never tried one, but really interested in trying one. Seems kind of like a JB/Distortion, but less hot, so more clarity, and less gritty.

SD Custom is a good choice. I haven't tried the others mentioned here but I have done a JB to Custom swap. It fits the description. Sharper with tighter bass than a JB, less round sounding.
