I bought the TC-100 head listed here! It should be at my house in a few days. I will be running it through my Orange 4x12 cab which has V30's. How does the TC-100 compare to a Mark III or V?

I have a Tc50 I also have a MKIII C+ With some mods. I will say this TC again in my experience is with 50 watt, Its a bit more compact feeling then the MKiii. The tc has a really nice focus and crunch. I really do feel like its a mix of a mark and recto. The Tc Has a better Variety of tonal options available, Where the mark iii is a mark iii. The TC Is easier to setup and Consistent in is sound, unlike a mkiii you bump a knob the next day some of them can sound like a different amp. Never mind if you tour with it and humidity changes the amps volatile. I used the tc live one night in a small gig and the opening bands amp went down they were hard marshall rock we were American metal. He took the amp and set it up like a Marshall with a Sd boost it sounded killer. Now let's flip the scrip, I have had two mark III's one i got rid of one i sent for some mods. In my humble opinion nothing does what a mark 3 it's the most aggressive or the Mark series. I think Your ur going to be very happy with the tc, IT takes boosts Very well and love the midi options. 100 watt will have some more low end then the 50 and have more power as well as headroom.

One note is sounds good through a cab but honestly i was surprised the first time i heard it under a mic with a recto Cab. It sat really great and doesn't sound dated. I heard willy adlers rig with a tc100 it was pummeling.

Great pickup man enjoy sorry for the rant Im a Few martini's in lol

Thanks! That's exactly what I wanted to hear about the amp taking pedals and being in between a Recto and Mark! I have a few OD pedals to try with the TC 100 if needed. My Mark III is the only amp that I own where I just plug in and play without any pedals. I've had a few beers as well... Cheers!

I’ve been borrowing the tc50 from a friend and running it through its paces. Got to say it’s a pretty killer amp. I run it through a recto cab and ran a boost in front, but found that it sounds better without one when given some volume

I owned a tc50 for years, never played through a 4x12 but I did run it with vintage 30s and IMO it wasn’t a great match for that amp, way too bright, ran it with a cream back 75 and it was golden. If you get it and it’s too bright I would think of a speaker swap before writing it off. Good luck with it, great amps

I also have an Avatar 2x12 which has a Wizard and Swamp Thang so I'm going to try that with the head as well.
