I recently sold all my amps but my ecstasy classic. Problem is that I still have a diezel 4x12 sitting around and I have grown addicted to a two amp rig. This should pair nicely with the classic. Question now switches to what kind of switching I put in place...

For years I've been using a powered VooDoo Labs amp selector switch in a four amp with four 4x12 set up. I can use all 4 rigs at once or any combination of the 4. Each I/O has level and ground lift.

if you're not integrating switching of effect or needing midi a simple ABY would work. I've used Whirlwind AB selector (either amp or both buttons) for years, used and abused and it kept on ticking...still have it although I dont use it...fairly transparent as well

I had the amp selector before, back when I was running a vh4, decatone, shiva, and superdrive 45. Not sure I need another as I have a radial bigshot for a 2 amp setup.

My concern is channel switching the two. I'd love it if I could just use a din splitter and control two heads with one footswitch but I doubt that would work well.

I'll probably get another voodoo control switcher and a medusa cable. I'd love to find a rivera headmaster to use for switching as it has 6 presets per bank which is perfect for the 6 channel and boost settings of the ecstasy. But I'm thinking or going the boss es-8 route and looping all my pedals. But that things not cheap...

Btw for the ecstasy I find the voodoo control switcher perfect considering price as with a medusa cable you can control the 3 channels and if you throw in a mono y cable you can get both boosts. You lose the std by and loop controls this way but since I have a Tuner in front and use the loop always on as a master volume this setup is perfect on my classic.

I've been gearing up for a two amp setup, and I bought the Lehle Dual. Now to save up for that second head. :aww:

Nice! I'm interested to hear your take on how the two compare.

Hey man not to sure all that your using in your rig, and how you'll be controlling things from the out side But I suggest a Ampete 222. You can find Pete Thorn demos on the tube, its perfect for a two head system. I use a tc electronics g system so I have midi and relays all covered. I used to do all my head switching with a Radial headbone bone but found there are problems resulting with running high gain amplification. Also you need a two loop switcher for your effects loop. What's cool with the 222 is it covers amps input, speaker output, and effects loop.
Somthing to consider, but I'm not sure that you can run both heads at once. I think it's just switching between heads and two cabs. Good luck man!

Yea totally excited scheduled for delivery tomorrow, just before Xmas outages, hope it makes it. Still researching my switching options more. I've use controls switches with a commander and a gcp in the past. The commander has a nice footprint but not enough presets if I include effects with channel switching. The gcp is just too damn big and id still have to get a loop switcher. The boss es-8 is looking attractive but pricey... anybody have experience with the cheaper moen gec8 live?

Miss mine. It became my one and only for a long time. Really hated selling it. Longest I kept an amp without flipping it....think 7 years :aww:

I still have a smaller pedal and 20' cable for it if you are interested. Pedal is 5"x9" I think

RJM rack mount effect/amp channel switcher will control 2 amps. I used that set up with the 20th and uber

Arrived safe and sound. Played for just a bit. Great amp as expected. Certainly a different flavor then my ecstasy classic but not drastically different. Running them together is massive! Now to complete a switching system and get a rear loaded Bogner cab for it. The front loaded diezel I'm using it with is just too bright.

That's gonna look sweet when you get your second Bogner cab. The wheat cloth ones are getting harder to find, but I still see them occasionally. I already have two, but I'll eventually get a third. Such beauties.

Man, mixing the plexi channel on the 20th with the boosted clean on the classic is vintage tonal bliss. Throw a fuzz in front and its down right nasty blues. Running red on both with different settings on excursion, presence and prr eq for my own version of jerry's mad and pissed, I'll call it envy and wrath... wicked awesome....

Sweet man! I can't wait to get a second head so I can experiment like that.

That looks sweet. Let me know if the Medusa gives you any trouble. When I had an Ecstasy I used it with my Voodoo Lab GCX.

Great amps and lots of great ways to pair em up together, soundwise.I love running my 20th XTC & 20th Shiva together!
