IR-J or hold out for JEL 20?

Craving a JEL 20 and thought it would be a simple amp for gigs. I used to have a JJ Jr. and a PT V2 but the JEL 20 is more my tone.

Wondering if I should get an IR-J in the meantime and use it with my Powerstage amp or just hold off and get the JEL 20?

I own the IR-J and have played the JEL 20 and the feel is very similar. The IR-J is a beast for certain and I am sure with a decent power amp it would sound excellent. It sounds really good through my Laney GH30R effects loop as well as my old peavey rackmount power amp.

I wonder about this though..how about IR-J into loop / power section of a 50 or 100 watt jcm800?? I have to think that's going to ha e more bloom and headroom in the low end and sound closer to the 50

I think i'm going to go the Synergy route but I agree that an IR-J into a Marshall probably sounds pretty killer.

I tried to do the IR-J, returned it and bought the JEL-20.
I tried the IR-J though my Friedman Little Sister and my Marshall DSL40CR.
The JEL-20 sounds so much better.

I currently have a Soldano Astro 20, Friedman JEL-20 head and matching 1x12 cab, and a Friedman Little Sister.
I am actually gassing for a Soldano SLO 30, if I decide to do it I might sell the JEL-20 and cab.
Feel free to PM me if you are interested.
The Soldano is very expensive, I would need to move something.

I gigged the Jel 20 a few shows. Sold it. Did my last gig with IRJ into Powerstage 2x12.
With midi switching and HX Effexts running it, lots of tones. I thought it was pretty good.

I'm going to get a Synergy amp most likely but appreciate it. I've seen a lot of your clips and really helpful and informative and some great tones.

I was going to tell you to check out the Synergy, you have so many amp choices with it.
I know some people say it doesn't sound exactly like the amps it is replicating, but if it is close enough and adds the Synergy clean channel, that would be good enough for me.
I have thought about grabbing one also.
