Hoping someone in here might now what's going on.

I paid fully for the Faustine Phantom DX2 last May.
I was told to expect an Oct/11 delivery.

AS OF THIS WEEK (DEC.9/11) THEY ARE NOT RETURNING PHONE CALLS OR EMAILS.
THEIR PHONE HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED!

oh oh!

It does not look good.

Yes, they are done. Spoke to Tim last week through an email. For those that paid or deposited good luck...

Wow. What's the deal? You'd think a limited chance of failure with a product with that kind of demand.

Probably not for me to say. I only really know that he told me he wasn't doing Faustine anymore. I was trying to get something from him and he said he was done. Maybe he plans on filling the orders he has. I really don't know.

That's a shame. He had a great product. Think he plans to sell the rights to it? Seems like someone could run with it.

Ouch. Always pay with a credit card. ALWAYS, no matter what you are putting a deposit on or buying and even if they are considered "trusted" . This way you can do a charge back if necessary. Credit Card companies have good lawyers... ;)

Good advice in general not only fly by night boutiques.

This thread would probably be nuked on TGP to protect the builder while customers are left flying in the wind.
It seems there's only a few defenders left.

Dave's right. How did you pay?

How long before the Phantom goes from being one of the best attenuators to the absolute holy grail that nothing else can touch and is easily worth the $2500 asking price on the used market?

This churns my blood to boiling levels!!

I cannot BELIEVE this chump decided to punk out and cut off all communication. I paid in full (with a CC thankfully) back in January with a promise of April delivery. Been waiting long enough but also knew waits were to be expected. At this point though, I was ready to request a refund. Now it's going to be a major pain in the ass getting my money back and even more of a wait. Good thing I don't live in California right now. Seriously.

Pete Thorn?? You out there? You know the guy pretty well, right? What's up? Any idea?

Probably faster than any of us think

The Dumble of Attenuators.....

See if Rob at Tone Merchant's has a read on the situation. He had a read on them at one point when the wheels were starting to fall off. I may be wrong, but seems was at one time trying to get the financial backing for a proper production set up. Not sure what happened though.

If you paid by CC, file it and let them do the legal work. Meanwhile, the list goes on for failed gear providers and one-hit wonders.

Steve

Good luck and kudos to those that have them and might reap the benefits of "elusive holy grail boutique" attenuator sales. For me, I'm thinking seriously about whether to get on a plane and head west. Not trying to sound all billy bad-ass or anything, just pissed right now. I'll sleep it off, work with my CC company, and hopefully get restitution. Still, this has serious kinship with historical rip-offs from other boutique equipment makers that shall remain nameless. Sucks!

Thanks guys! I had a feeling this was the case

The good news is I paid fully with my Visa, kept all the emails and I have the receipts etc.
I have never heard of the Credit Card "charge back" so again - thanks for the tips on that.

I'll contact Visa tomorrow.

Thanks again...very appreciated.

the kicker is his wife was still soliciting orders and promising delivery dates up intill just 2 weeks ago even though they knew that there was no chance at anything being delivered. I saw the writing on the wall over a year ago but was bashed for pointing out the obvious. Call your credit card company before its too late! Maybe those who vouched for these scammers will chip in and help refund some dough to those who got ripped????

:aww: Lets all go order 3 or more in fake names. In the Christmas spirit......of being selfish and manipulative.

Well the company is named "Faustine"!  On a serious note, maybe he has plans to make it right before he shuts down his operation completely...let's hope. Dang, looks like I'll be getting a Rivera Rockcrusher or a Cameron Attenuator.
