with just hired hands?

I personally am not a big fan but like a few songs. I've heard that the lead singer is pretty much the band. The rest of them have been interchanged with replacements a lot the last few years. If that's true it doesn't seem like much of a band to me.

Don’t really know, however I like a lot of their songs. They were great when I saw them with Iron Maiden.

Yes, in fact a while back the rest of the band quit/was fired.

I don't get what people like about them. Seems kinda cheesy and not in a good way.

I think there was some interband lawsuit stuff going on previously.

As for the band itself...DO NOT LIKE.

Saw them with Iron Maiden as well. They are a much better band, live. Been a fan ever since.

I really like them, but this new album that just came out is disappointing.

Their first album when released was awesome! Kinda a pseudo king diamond vibe...but now they messed up I believe by revealing who everyone is. Tobias got greedy.

It basically started off as a recording project (Tobias with session drummers). The full backing band only came into the picture after the first album.

I saw a recent video of James Hetfield playing one of their songs.

No need to speculate. Ghost is in fact a one man show. Tobias writes, arranges and also plays guitar on most of the tunes. He probably plays some of the other instruments as well. Drums are played by the same drummer on most of the records, though that drummer doesn’t tour with them. I happen to like Ghost, but I can understand how others don’t. People like to villianize the guy because he is a one man show, but I know several people who know him quite well, and all reports are that he’s a genuinely nice guy.

Precisely! They're just like "Buckethead" incarne (Dans ma prière) first-person singular present and indicative. We'll never know who's who, ain't that a bitch? Although rumor has it, the member that's lucky enough to wear the Pope brim in the middle of this pose below is actually an employee for H&R Block and owns a Burger King franchise in Columbus Ohio - go figure.

Totally agree. The first album was awesome. Had a dry, eerie, MF "Melissa" type of feel to it. The albums after that got more and more produced and lost that vibe. I still dig the latter albums, but the first one had a sinister sound to it that they haven't reproduced.

I too liked the first album. But the focus became defused and abit lacklustre. I know the satanic lyrics and staging brings up MF/King Diamond, but they always remind more of Rammstein.

I didn’t realize there was a stigma or any problems with a one-man band. Shit I think that makes it even more impressive. I like Ghost pretty well, but I never pay attention to image or anything. It’s mood rock for me, when I want something a little mellow, soft vocals and catchy melodic rock.
Except for some of the corny lyrics, it’s a win all around for me.

I thought the singer had changed multiple times too, but I don't really pay attention to this irritating band...

The whole Satan thing is played out... I can see the 13yr olds that hang out at hot topic liking it though

Same guy. Just adopts a different name/persona after each album/tour as if it's a new person.

Catchy songs with a laughable schtick that nobody including Tobias Forge takes seriously and a great live show. What's not to like?
