The whole Satan thing is played out... I can see the 13yr olds that hang out at hot topic liking it though

Yeah the Satan thing was played out years ago but I could probably overlook that if the music was good but it’s not. The music is as cliche as the image.

I think this new 'character' he's in is him trying to step away from the satanic thing a little bit, but we'll see. I do think songs like Square Hammer and From The Pinnacle To The Pit are fantastic in how they merge Maiden-esque metal with a dose of straight-up pop in their hook.

I tried to get into them... I'll tray again down the road i'm sure. I guess it's not my thing.

I love Ghost. Brought some fun back to a big rock show.

I can’t get past the satanic stuff. Other than that, I think their music is really good. Better than a lot of current modern rock, imho.

What's wrong with satan? Other than the fact that satan doesn't exist!

Here's a bit insight on the whole satanic thing:

Ghost came out of the "occult rock" trend in metal underground during late 00's/early 10's. It was mostly guys who were in extreme metal bands playing 70's style hard rock paired with satanic lyrics like they've always written. No one thought it would reach outside the metal underground at the time... until Ghost got picked up by Universal.

This was the band who more or less kickstarted the whole thing but they already broke up before Ghost's big breakthrough:

I guess we’ll all find out some day, won’t we?

The satanic shtick is old and tired.... I could care less who started it when.

Great shows and a great time. And thats all it is, shows and music, and getting even more like a musical/theater act with each album. Satan/God and that relationship is a core element of the lyrical content and show but this whole thing is far from an expression of belief. Its entertainment, are you not entertained?

Ghost is a satanic opera, their records are soundtracks. Satanism never gets old. Its like horror movies. lolz.

I don't get all the satan references. I've only heard a few songs out of multiple albums that make these references. I don't see see it. Definitely alot of religious themes, but nothing leads me to believe satan is their topic of choice. Pretty much B.S. being blown completely out of proportion.

I thought the singer had changed multiple times too, but I don't really pay attention to this irritating band...
Nope. I'd like to think there aren't THAT many people that sound that bad out there! LOL!

Honestly, I did dig the first album for the same reason others mentioned. That sort of King Diamond/MF feel. Ritual is a killer song but they lost me quick.

Satan is definitely their topic of choice...

cool riffs followed by god awful choruses, I like the idea of them, not the product

Don’t really know, however I like a lot of their songs. They were great when I saw them with Iron Maiden.

Ghost has some awesome songs.

I too liked the first album. But the focus became defused and abit lacklustre. I know the satanic lyrics and staging brings up MF/King Diamond, but they always remind more of Rammstein.
Hmm, never heard Rammstein in it much... but listen to "Elizabeth" from the 1st album...that could be straight up on King Diamond's "Abigail".
