Is it possible solid state power amp to tube from combo?

Hi guys. I have a Marshall AVT 2000 150 watt 1 x 12 I bought cheap at work. I mean cheap. Anyway, I thought it would be cool to play at home as I'm kind of a Marshall guy in tone preference, and I wanted to try this amp for recording too. Anyway, to my amazement, I really like this amp. I've had some good amps too in the past including Fender Twin, Peavey that I liked, Marshall DSL that I used, etc,..
Anyway, I really like the amp, but I'm just wondering if it's possible to convert it from the Solid State power amp to a tube power amp without too much trouble or would it not be feasible?

It would be a really serious undertaking, and an easier way to accomplish it would be to buy a tube rack mount power amp and take the pre out (efx loop out) to the tube power amp and then to a cab (or cabs).
 
Defo what Paul said. Buy a EL84 20/20 or similar and run the pre-amp from the Marshall into the power amp to give it a bit of tube warmth. You'd need a tube pre-amp as well to get the full experience

Hey Ghosty999.
Yeah, it has a preamp that is tube, and I'm assuming that's why I like it. It's the gain structure, etc, that I like. The thing about the power amp being solid state that I like is that I'm able to get that crunch, etc, even at low volume, but it still doesn't have that magical tube tone from the cranked power amp. I like your suggestion. I'll have to try that if I can find a power amp like you speak of.. I'll look on ebay and see what's out there..
