WoW!... Installed the JJ KT77 in Herbert. Huge bottom end.

I do like the 77's. Crunchy like the 34's, but got the guts of a 6l6.

LoL, got put in my 2 bits.I'm old no drop tuning cept Eb,after a year of tube insanity on my Einy..I still love El-34's,but I'm using NOS siemens dimple tops.Tubes are like women some peeps like big ones some skinny.

After tons of tube swapping, including combinations and running them through thier paces....6L6, KT88's, EL34, E34L's,6550, I ended up with 4 Ruby el34BG's and 2 JJ KT77's. This is in Herbert.
Now trying to decide on preamp tubes. The HG+ Ruby's are the winner along with HG+ JJ's. Ruby's are tighter but thinner sounding compared to the JJ's which have a bigger low end and depth but a tad bit looser... Don't like any combination of both.

I'm not keen on JJs, but if you want mack daddy glass, Gold Lion is primo, and straight up HG Chinese/Shuguang pre's, just sayin' :dunno:

For power tubes how would you compare the JJ KT77s and Ruby EL34BGs? I heard the EL34BGs and they were fantastic. Curious how the KT77s compare.

I feel the JJ77 has a bigger low end, good crunch. A rounder tone overall. The ruby 34BG are hot and searing which I love. Currently like combining the two for the best overall sound in my opinion. The lows are big yet tight.
