Heard it at my buddy's house through his Marshall cab (V30's or G12T-75's, don't remember) and it sounded killer. Made all the difference in the world. I don't think that amp likes GB's very much. Cool amp with the right cab.
I wish I could remember which speakers my buddy's cab had, because V30's and 75's midranges are pretty much opposites. I'm pretty sure that they were the 75's because that's what the accompanying cab has and he bought them together.War Admiral":3869n1f0 said:Beyond Black":3869n1f0 said:I borrowed my buddy's and played it at home through a Splawn cab with Greenbacks. Cool...that's what im talking about...I have a 2X12 with V30's here that Ill try it out with. I just heard so much crap about this amp and it made me hesitant.
Did you snip the bright cap? Install a choke? Stock? I heard all kinds of things...fizzy because of the cap...the feel of the amp because of the choke...cork sniffer stuff I guessmhenson42":9ye8icxz said:I have a JVM 210H. Killer amp. I'd rather have it than many of the "boutique" amps I've owned that cost a lot more.

The JVM though...yeah, it works for me. I haven't truly wanted another amp since I bought mine when they first came out. Lots of things that interest me but this amp has more or less killed my GAS barring the Friedman Steve Stevens Model or possibly the new PRS amp. Literally the only thing I've done is change tubes when needed. Never had any issues with squealing nor do I use a noise gate. Stock no mods.
The JMV loves 75's. Before I bought the amp 75's never worked for me with any other amp I owned...with JVM, different story.
V'30's sound good as well. My two cabs are an old Marshall 4x12 with 75's and a Bogner OS 2x12 with V30's...sounds great with both. As someone said above about GB's...in the past with other amps it's been one of my favorite speakers but not with the JVM.
Personally...cleans are great, Crunch Mode is cool...great channel to run an OD pedal if you want. However OD1 mode...that alone is worth owning the amps. I really never get into OD2 at live or recording volumes. Fun to play at low volumes. Full midi, great loop...running with my GCX system, it does everything I've ever needed in an amp. My last two amp purchases were the SigX and the JVM...liked them both and literally couldn't decided unless I lived with both for a bit. I kept the JVM. I also prefer the standard JVM over the Satch model...although I would like to spend more time with it.
Put a lot of miles on mine...at one point 160+ gigs in 18 months...along with rehearsals, studio...never had a problem. Knock on wood.
Like any amp...it'll either work for you or it won't.
Exactly right on the 75's. At the time I bought mine I had two Splawn 4x12's with a mix GB's and the 70th Anni's as well as a Marshall 4x12's with all GB's that had always been my recording cab....sold one of the Splawns, bought a Marshal with the 75's and never looked back. Eventually replaced the Splawns with another Marshall 4x12 loaded with 75's.guitarmike":1e7itilo said:jabps":1e7itilo said:First and foremost I don't come from the world that if I don't like something it sucks...it just means it didn't work for me.

I gigged the first version 410 for 2+ years. It was deigned for G12 t75 speakers and sounds great with them. I had the same experience as everyone else, it sucked through greenbacks.
If the price is right, you can't lose.![]()

I was lucky to get stuck with the one that sounded better. It has a phenomenal clean, really good crunch sounds, and can do the "pushed 800" sound AND modern metal sounds extremely well. The OD2 red sounds ALMOST identical to a 6505 lead channel (they feel a bit different though), and definitely has more gain. I did some recorded clips the other day and picked the JVM over the 6505 for heavy rhythms because I could scoop the mids out a bit more.
