I have an ISP stealth for my Kemper, going into an EVH 1x12 8 ohm with g12h-75 creamback.

If I got another 1x12 cab, for the purposes of connecting both and getting a 4ohm signal out of the ISP stealth, will it be louder?

Currently, it doesn't really keep up with a loud rock drummer, and I max it, bridged.

I was thinking it had more power at 4ohm...but I may be wrong. The spec seems to be higher at 8 ohm:

Stereo Power Amplifier, Class A/B, 180W at 8 Ohms, 2 x 80W at 4 Ohms, 100VAC-240VAC Operation, and I

I hate to say it, but that single G12H-75 isn't going to be able to keep up with a loud rock drummer without flubbing out or seriously compromising the low end response. If you're looking for something fairly inexpensive that pairs well with the Kemper (especially now that Pure Cab is live in 3.1.1), maybe try an EV ZLX-12P. That thing is CRAZY loud! I have two right next to me... the pairing of those speakers and the Kemper is greatly improved with the OS 3.1.1 Pure Cab settings.

If you need more power on tap and want to stay with a guitar speaker, pick up a used Quilter Tone Block 200 for $320 and replace the speaker with an Eminence EM12 or Eminence Deltalite II 2512 -- those will both give you a lot power without flubbing out on the low end. The Tone Block sounds far away better than the ISP. IMHO.

I have the Stealth. To me, it doesn't seem to be as loud as it is rated. Weird. I've had poweramps rated lower, and they sure seemed louder...

thanks guys
I believe you're right on changing a speaker, but the actual stealth volume seems inappropriate

I just want an easy to transport way to hear myself...maybe a powered monitor is the easiest solution

Make sure your master volume is up on the Kemper. I used my Stealth with the ISP theta preamp pedal (with the levels pretty high) into a 8ohm 4x12 and it kept up nicely in practice with a full metal band.

good call on master volume
I think I had it around 6 or so...

should the kemper volume be up near full?

I've used the Stealth a few times with my Kemper, but only in the bedroom through an 8ohm 2x12. It definitely is louder on 8ohm as the specs say. But at least so far I've found you have to krank your master or level settings on whatever you are putting through the Stealth to maximize your volume. I don't recall what I had the Kemper set at though sorry.

One speaker just isn't enough though ;) I rented a Traynor (Canadian company) vertical 2x12 with v30's and it was perfect for putting the Kemper on top of it. It sounded great through the Stealth. Nothing beats a 4x12 though.

The default Master Volume on the Kemper is at 5.0.

But I agree that nothing beats a 4x12, especially if the cabinet is resonating a bit.

That said, the closest you're gonna get in a 1x12 is with a beefy driver like the EVM 12L (or Eminence/WGS version), or Eminence EM12 or Deltalite II 2512 if you want something much lighter!). Those are the few drivers that have enough headroom to produce the low end to even remotely compete with a 4x12.

all thanks again

I got an evm-12L speaker for the 1x12 cab
I put the kemper master up near 8 or 9 with the ISP maxed as it always was

my 1x12 is plenty loud now for a loud band
I've successfully replaced a 4x12 with a 1x12 (as far as stage volume)

Thanks!

That's awesome to hear you got it all worked out!

And THAT'S why the EVM-12L is legendary.
