Which one did you call dibs on? I know yngzalynch has dibs on the fat checkers guitar...

Go Floyd or go home!

Those look killer... love the blue but the white one could be my bitch LOL. Like the 2-pickup configuration a tad better.

Awesome Steve! Seriously, Charvel's just need a Floyd Rose to look right. Killer!!

I'm dissapointed. An 80's buttrock warning and not one clip of these charvels through a modded marshall. Wheres the lay it down, bark at the moon or unchained?

Did the neck have to be shimmed or the neck pocket shaved to tilt the neck for the surface mounted floyd? I'm working on a partscaster that has the std trem and putting a surface (non recessed) mounted floyd and the action is waaaayyy high.

Yup - it was a Dimarzio Super Distortion before, but I already have a bunch of guitars with those. I love 'em. Wanted something different so went for a Duncan Custom Custom which sounds cool too...

Nope - no neck pocket shaving or shimming.

I think he told me he had to shim your neck.

O my god. Really man?

I know you strat guys see fighting with a vintage trem as a badge of honor and when I see it done right, I'm amazed by it. However, I am like Steve. If I'm playing a super strat and want to go crazy with the trem bar, I can't keep the damn vintage ones in tune.

On my vintage style strats, I leave the stock trems, I'm just afraid of them, like they are some sort of land mine about to go off if I do anything wrong.

And I'll tell you with the way Steve's guitar resonated after the Floyd install I think it is safe to say that he just improved the tone and playability of his guitar. I have never heard any electric guitar that was that loud acoustically and it just rang and rang and rang.

I'm thinking about a titanium block for one of my Floyd guitars after hearing that thing. I think I have a good source for very affordable (for titanium) blocks.

Stupid Fender bridges... How did something so cheap become so iconic?..

Love me a Charvel with a maple neck every time I see one  .

I'm not a super fan of FR bridges (never really learned how to play the bar, it's fun to play around with but meh...) but I do think a Charvel w/o a locking bridge doesn't look or feel right.

Oh. He told me he had to shim the Floyd nut, which would be the opposite of shimming the neck... Maybe I misunderstood...
