It's like Queensryche, Triumph, Rush, had a baby.

BTW...

Regarding the title of this thread -- I remember in right around the start of the 90's reading some guitar rag where they called this amazing new upstart band "a blend of Rush and Queensrych", which happened to be my favorite two bands at the time. So I ran right out and bought a copy of Dream Theater's "When Dream and Day Unite". Was pretty impressed with that cassette, and when "Images and Words" came out a few years later I was just bown away by it and they became my favorite band for a while. Too bad they eventually stopped caring about writing great songs and just did album after album of circle jerk music. Like QR I have only skimmed their past few CDs and just don't find any reason to buy them.

FANTASTIC band...I'm a huge progressive metal fan but hadn't heard them. THANK YOU.

This is like Journey meets Toto with a little Dream Theater thown in without the crappy Labrie vocals. :D

Absolutely KILLER band!!!

I love how interesting their songs are and yet even though it has that 'prog' vibe, they have a sound that IMO is very accessible to listeners who may not be too familiar with prog music.

You need to hear these tracks if you're new to them.

Great song, sick solo.

This is probably their best album even though it sounds like the guitars are played through a POD.

Their last album wasn't their best, but i like most of it. They went for a more mainstream sound but it had some great songs on it and this is one of their best tunes IMHO. This singer is just so damm good, and he's incredible live.

I like this one alot - Intermission. You can clearly hear the Dio influence in Nils K. Rue's voice.

Jorn is so underrated. Yngwie blew it by kicking him out of his band while on tour. I have a bootleg video of that tour and Jorn slays on I'll see the light tonight like no other. incredible singer. Love that Pagan's MInd stuff, never even heard of them

Hell ya. Dio was the shit belting out some of the most wicked vocals in all of heavy metal. I actually forgot that Dio died on May 16, 2010 from stomach cancer.

RIP Dio.

Man daneyo, truly thanks for the killer find. I feel as if I've come full circle between the heavy metal brilliance of GoJira and the progressive melodic metal of Pagan's Mind.
I can’t believe I’ve never run into these guys from Norway having been on the scene since 2000 - 11 years.

My favorite Pagans Mind song still, this is epic.

You and Dan posted this already but this is their best tune IMO. I like them a lot but this song represents everything I love about proggy metal. That ending is the definition of epic.

too many keyboards for my liking. Was very disappointed in Enigmatic: Calling

These type of bands get no attention here in the USA which sucks. Me and a friend saw Pagan's Mind open for Stratovarious is NYC 2 years ago and there was maybe 300 people there. As long as they keep making music that's all i care. I don't give a crap that everyone in the States like's a dancing monkey like Usher or Timberlake.
