I've been playing my Fortin Cali mod next to an XTC 101B.

Brentsp has some mod for the xtc that I thought sounded killer, not sure which channel though.

What made you get an xtc anyways?

Well i got the Fortin placed on my minds list of things that won't get sold. Saved up a little and have been doing the amp swap with the 2nd amp. And it was sitting in GC and it's in MINT shape. I do like the XTC better than other modern high gain switchers like the Diezels and Engl's of the world.

I need to try it on some Greenbacks. When i have some extra coin I'm going to try some Scumbacks. I think i could see myself keeping the XTC though, the clean and Blue channels are really nice. Just wish the red channel was a bit tighter.

Was this the XTC at the Paramus Guitar Center of NJ 15 for $2495.00? My friend works there and sent me a picture of it as soon as it came it. Then I responded, sorry, this will be at my house in three weeks:

On that note Danny, I'd love to hear that XTC a/b'd with the "XTC" that Dave Woodhouse built for me, and if you like what he did to the red channel, you should consider him to mod it. If you ever want to swing by my house for a mini ampfest (hell, I own eight amps, thats like an ampfest right there ), come on down! I'd love to hear your Cali and Ecstasy among what I have here.

It's the one Pete Thorn posted and the amp that Brad used to own and I now have it and in the brown eye and Hairy brown eye modes it can get really percussive if you set it up that way .

His clip showcases this in various settings , but it's hard to get the effect through monitor speakers , but it's there

I've played an Ecstasy a handful of times before, and I share sentiments about it with some people around here; the red channel is lacking a bit, but the blue and green are great.

I had Dave Woodhouse use some custom iron I had made by Mercury Magnetics for my Rocktron Vendetta (biggest piece of shit amp ever- I had it modded, new trannys, changed tubes- always sounded horrible) and build me a "sweetened" Ecstasy around it. Dave is a fantastic guy, has amazing customer service, and has quite some talent with voicing amps, so I thought he would be the one to do this for me. This was a one-off thing he won't be doing again, but I'm hoping you guys will hear it soon. It will be at my house on Tuesday!

Me and Dave were talking that we need to have an ampfest again. And i got the XTC to scream tonight! All the red channel needed was a BB Preamp with the gain set real low, level about halfway, and the treble set up a little on the BB. With the amp the boost was on, B2, and excursion on T. The pedal really tightened everything up.

Well the Cali has clipping diodes, correct? Those definitely do a decent job of tightening up the bass along with how Mike voiced the amplifier. All of the Jose styles have very little of the sub bass going on. I boost every amp I own; it just sounds better to me.

I'd definitely love to see all of you guys again soon (you know who you are ), so let's get an ampfest going soon!
