Beware when buying pickups from WB Pickups. Right now, I could care less who is going to stand up for the company on here or even if someone may be a friend of the owner. I am a small business guy myself and there is a "good way" and a "bad way" to conduct business.

Early last month, I sent $115 via paypal using the link on the webpage for a pickup. Turns out that I made a mistake on the order and I sent an e-mail to cancel the order within 4 hours of the original purchase. The following day, I sent a $115 request for the cancellation. I have yet to hear a single thing or receive a single e-mail.........never even received a confirmation. I was willing to wait it out. A little time passed and I decided to call/e-mail quite a few times.............no response.

So I took it upon myself to file a claim with paypal and go with another small company for their products. As expected, the paypal dispute gets no response. So I do a little investigation myself. Turns out that I am merely a needle in the haystack compared to how many people this guy has ripped off. I will keep the details to myself, but its not that hard to find if you are really interested. Plus I got quite a bit of inside info. from others in the field.

I really hope the owner pops his head up in here just to see what kind of explanation he can provide. Not just to me but to the countless others.

I've never called anyone out before regarding business practices, but I just felt like people need to know before they get screwed.

My future needs will go to Motor City, BG, and WCR as I have bought from all of them and they have excellent customer service.

That is a bummer, man.

That being said my needs are being met by Motor City Pickups.

Man, your being way too nice, if I was absolutely sure, and I would have to be absolutely sure, I'd put his name up in a second :gethim: :gethim: :gethim: :gethim: I cant stand people that do that kind of stuff

You need to file a report with the Redding, California police department. Jim Wagner and I have known how this guy rips people off for years and tried to tell people but the threads get deleted so as not to incur any liability from slander/libel.

The sad truth is that the guy is guilty of everything that people post. Hope PayPal can help you out. You have to file within 45 days of payment, right?

I heard he was in Yuba City doing business...Moved shop there a few months ago so I heard.

That sucks.

He posted a lot on the mylespaul forums, perhaps you could try to make a post there to reach him.

I was going to put an order for some wb pickups, but it's not the first time that I read some customers who have a hard time reaching him, so I will probably look elsewhere.

What is "WB pickups"? From where did you hear about this company? I don't want to sounds ignorant, but I'm not familiar with this at all/

BTW, Motor City is the shit. unreal!

I filed a report yesterday. I wouldn't have done that normally, but after reading/hearing all the other horror stories, I decided this guy needs to be dealt with in some way or another.

I know him. I actually bought an amp off him. He was nice to me...even drove it down and delivered it to me. That was almost 3 years ago. he told me about his pickups, but I never ordered any.

I have a friend that tried the pickups way back when, almost 12 to 18 months ago at my house when I did my own little pickup shoot out. He loved the WCR's, Wolfetones and some of WB's stuff.

Due to prices... WB always has a sale going of some sort, he opted for the WB. I had no idea he was ordering anything as they were a surprise for his son.

Surprise it was alright. I was more sad for my friend and embarrassed than anything. He placed his order and was told, "oh yeah they are in stock and will ship tomorrow". Weeks passed and he would call and be told, "they are going out with the next shipment. His son moved away and the gift was totally ruined.

He waited a little over 7 weeks and he got them (at least he got them). I felt embarrassed as I lead to that experience. He told me all the excuses etc he received from people, and they line up with many others. He also said he felt taken advantage of and treated without any respect. Again, this is how he felt.

You'll never read things on the forums as they often get deleted etc. I have not provided an opinion, simply stated an observation of fact. I have nothing to gain in telling this story. I was just embarrassed that someone had a bad experience based on playing something at my home, especially my good friend.

I've been waiting 10 months...no pickups and no replies to calls or emails. Anyone else, please PM me about this.

Was it a splawn quickrod? in orange?

I really hate to hear this. I have a WB fire in a Les Paul that i think is the best pickup I've ever owned. I was actually on the sdge of placing an order for a set to go in a PRS singlecut. This deffinately puts a damper on my order.
